Arum: Garcia & Porter aren't elite. Besputin & Mean Machine are next for Crawford

Man, Bud is ****ed. He was at 135 when it was a wasteland. 140 has always been weak(with a few historical exceptions) and now this.
Dude is in his prime ffs.

 

Porter might not be elite, but he's a very dangerous opponent for Crawford.
Danny Garcia would be a big underdog against Terrence, I think.
At the same time, I hope Bob is not trying to say that Mean Machine is elite.
And Besputin is very good, but not proven yet.

Bob just needs to overpay Danny or Porter and make the damn fight.

 

How soon is it that Crawford can jump ship to Haymon? If you remember back, he had the possibility of fighting Pacquiao when he chose Arum, but not anymore.

I didn’t like how Crawford went the polished route in his post fight interview and avoided naming opponents. Spence-Crawford would be the biggest 147 fight since Pac-Floyd.

 

He can't. He just signed a new contract with Top Rank, where he is guaranteed like 3 mil a fight. He has his own Haymon type deal with Bob Arum. He gets paid top dollar, to fight scrubs.

 

Crawford is falling into the same trap that Manny fell into. He needs to get away from Arum. Bob is good at getting a fighter to the star level but then he starts to drain said fighter of his money potential and his legacy by holding them in house fights.

Whereas they big Frank Warren up because they know he's pretty inept.

 

The exception in this case being Crawford does not not have the Mosley, Marquez, De La Hoya, Cotto, Bradley and Maragrito's to hold him over like Pacquiao got. Why does he have to go to Haymon for good fights when Haymon's guys are not fighting or barely fighting right now?
They don't mix it up unless its forced over there. Spence best opponent on record is Lamont Peterson coming off a year and a half lay off. Peterson ain't fought since. PBC is nothing more than an illusion at 147. Those dudes are gonna bury that division for the next decade because they are afraid and would rather wait for Floyd as if he is ever going to fight them dudes. Thank the boxing gods for the Heavyweights coming back.

 

Crawford is getting paid 3,5$ mil per fight. That's more than any PBC fighter.

In case you haven't noticed Spence has yet to get a fight against Porter, Garcia or Thurman and they are ALL with Gaymon.

Big fan of Mean Machine and Besputin looks quality but both fighters as it currently stands are not better than Garcia, Porter, Spence etc.

Not saying they would or wouldn't beat the fighters mentioned but Crawford needs to step it up.

 

Right, he doesn't have the fighters that will sharpen his skills in house and he needs to break out. That means he has to go across the street. That is where the action and the possible bigger money and legacy fights are. With the exception of Spence, those gents are fighting each other and I am tired of that. Spence's best opponent was Brook, Lamont was basically a stay busy fight. I wouldn't mind Crawford fighting any of those guys, starting with Thurman.

 

All that's fine and well but in the scheme of things 3.5 ain't squat compared to what he could make. My focus is not on what Spence is doing because I know that he is being ducked. I also know that Spence would fight Crawford if he wasn't with Arum. As a matter of fact Porter, Thurman and Garcia would fight him and Crawford's pocket and legacy would benefit more from it.
