The first retirement Joe Louis comes back to fight these opponents, how does he do? (Keep in mind that Louis beat Brion and Savold, and went 15 rounds with Ezzard Charles.) 1950s boxing rules. Tom Sharkey Tommy Burns Jack Sharkey Leon Spinks Cleveland Williams (after being shot) Archie Moore
I could see Spinks giving him hell, but he would most likely win UD or late round ko. I think he'd clear up until Moore, that's a toss up for me. Louis was past his prime, and while I think he'd make Moore a bum of the month in his youth, I don't know who'd win with an old Louis.
He probably edges Tom Sharkey, but I am not sure. He is too big for Tommy Burns. Jack Sharkey wins nearly every round, unless he has one of his trademark meltdowns. He outpoints Leon Spinks. He outpoints the shot version of Williams. Archie Moore beats him very convincingly.
Might as well give my own opinion UD's Tom Sharkey Close UD's Burns KO's Jack Sharkey in a come-from-behind win late KO's Spinks late Gets knocked down by Williams but gets back up to win by KO in mid rounds Gets KO'd in the championship rounds by Moore.
I think Tom Sharkey being dq'd isn't out of the question. Otherwise he might pull off a late KO, but I wouldn't bet on it.
