One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough is that Golden Boy needed dates for its other fighters, not just Canelo, with HBO quitting the boxing game. And DAZN would provide that.

That's why I see the moves that Golden Boy made.

Not only that, DLH hates Al Haymon. Haymon controls Espinoza & Showtime. DLH was never going to bring his star attraction anywhere near Haymon again. I posted this exact thing in the HBO went out of business thread, and the haters said DAZN didn't have the money. Agreed. All this talk from Espinosa saying he wants Canelo was a pipe dream. I never saw de la Hoya ever giving Haymon the satisfaction of having his biggest star on their platform. Plus, can you really see Showtime being able to afford both Golden Boy & the PBC all the dates they wanted?That's two big stables under one platform. I just don't see Showtime being able to carry both stables financially.

 

Joshua vs Povetkin was major and included, Bellew vs Usyk is major and included. DAZN has always said they are going to offer the best in combat & other sports without ppv, now that they landed the other biggest star in boxing people many more people will sub. There is no reason to believe they are going to break the mission statement 3 months into the launch.

Its irrational with most of these guys, they actually WANT dazn to break their word and put big fights on PPV just because they want it to fail.

It was sad when HBO went down because imo they weren't as bad as showtime are with the emotional Espinoza running the show.

I hope dazn pick up lampley, Kellerman and jones. I'd be a happy man.
