How lol, I'm through the roof. This makes DAZN huge, not much chance of it failing now (at least for the next 5 years) which is all I care about. I love the service and didn't want to see it fail, this deal all but assures it's survival subs are gonna go through the roof, 9.99 to watch Canelo's next 11 fights. Even you are gonna sign up lol.

Honestly it's a steal I ain't denying that, but sadly it's not available in my location

WBSS alone would be worth the money

You in the UK then? I watched a recent interview with one of the higher ups for DAZN, they are planning on launching over there sooner rather than later.

HBO did make an offer for another PPV

HBO had the right of first negotiation and a last-look provision for Alvarez's fight with England's Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs), and the network made an offer for an HBO PPV event, but it elected not match the one made by DAZN.

The one market I think is difficult unless they get football. You need Premier league football over here if you want people to pay.

I expect DAZN will pick up at least 1 more big name star by 2018's end.

The deal also includes dates for Golden Boy's stable as well.

So basically DAZN is the new home for Canelo & Golden Boy.

That's two stables under 1 platform. Matchroom USA/UK & Golden Boy. Basically DAZN is definitely gonna have their boxing schedule filled up quick with having two stables and the World Boxing Super Series on their platform. A good start for DAZN, imo.

Maybe we could eventually see co promotional deals Matchroom sending their fighters/champions over to fight on Golden Boy shows, and vice versa.

Twitter is saying this is the largest individual sporting contract of all times.

    True or False?

Yes but remember Floyd did a $250 mil deal with showtime for 5 fights so pro rata was bigger

I would not be surprised and I'm willing to bet that the Canelo/Fielding undercard will be filled with Golden Boy & Matchroom fighters. Some of them fighting each other.

Well it's 365 million but only by 5 years instead of 10 or whatever fat baseball contracts usually are, so I'd have to guess yeah.

BTW here's Hearn talking about getting the big names for DAZN

    This content is protected

He's been trying to get a name like Canelo (actually much smaller as Canelo's the biggest) since DAZN's launch. So explain to me how he's gonna be upset now that DAZN got this big name. This is good for the WBSS, Matchroom, Hearn, Bellator, every other show on DAZN. Seems like sour grapes from Hearn haters who only have this straw to grasp at now that they've landed the other biggest fish (they already have Joshua.)
