Murray-Rosado 119-109 card was terrible, on par with Canelo's 118-110 card.

 

So in short this fight laid bare Billy's shortcomings as s trainer for all to see. .....
1. He didn't get his man fighting fit.
2. He cannot realistically assess his own man's ability (totally exaggerated it based on sparring) !
3. Failed to understand /realise his man seems a fairly weak character....lacking heart.

Billy might well be a very decent honourable man, but.... In all fairness these are bleeding rudimentary elements of the job of being an effing boxing trainer.

 

That is all probably true but the Scotch Pie has put his money where his pies are.....It wasnt just bluff ,he must have believed in the old sh1thouse lump

Just watched the fight, fan of hunter now, never seen him fight before and he played it smart but when he did attack it looked like he was putting everything into his shots, I liked that.

Bakole should watch the Danny Williams vs potter fight

If he watches both the above then he would realise boxthing is not for him.

 

Nelson claimed Bakole was the most talented fighter he ever trained. Very disrespectful to Ricky Burns, Bakole won't achieve 5% of what Burns achieved. Apart from Burns , Billy Nelson has not achieved much in this sport - all his other fighters have been Area level, and his tips/predictions are mostly woeful.

 

On the 5live podcast, Bunce said they had been trying to contact Nelson to no avail. Where's Billy?

 

Awful matchmaking. Putting a big stiff heavyweight with no foot or head movement in with a Cruiser who stepped up, moves well, was an olympian and went the distance with Usyk... Hunter has a new fan

 

On a side note, I'd like to see Michael Hunter fight Adam Kownacki, would be a good fight.

 

Easy to question the matchmaking in hindsight but Bakole didn’t have the luxury of a high profile and following so the only way to make waves was to take fights like this.

I hope he learns from this and comes again...Hunter isn’t that good a heavyweight though...Bakole was just a rabbit in the headlights...hopefully he has the minerals to recover and improve.

 

I don't think Bakole had too much to gain from this fight, even if he did win. It would have been the 'of course he should have beat a stepped up cruiserweight' There are big stiff heavyweights he would have beat that he would have got more credit for I think.
