im so sick of these hypothetical floyd matchups. right now he kills floyd. im not going to imagine prime for prime or none that bs. right now crawford kills him.
Crawford would be too powerful at welter, P4P might be a closer argument, but Bud is something else at welter and he`s long with that lead extended near your face, his power and offensive tools would keep Floyd in a shell if Floyd opened up he`d be in bad danger, Bud could end it at any moment even if he`s behind on points.
floyd is too slippery and his jab is too fast for bud to time. without getting floyd up close and personal, he wont outpoint him, and bud is not a fighter who pushes the inside fighting.
I say Crawford because he can hit hard in the conventional stance and at southpaw. The close to prime welterweight that Floyd has ever faced was Judah and Judah was busting him up until he got tired and Floyd started getting more accurate. As of now I have never seen Crawford fade in the distance , I guess a Keith Thurman would be as close to prime Judah as we can get today.
The only thing wide would be the physical distance floyd would keep from Crawford. The fight wouldnt happen. About this time the Mayweathers would start accusing Crawford of being roided up after two kos in his first two fights at WW. "Floy` worrr bout his helf`"
Before Benavidez's gammy knee started getting all wonky on him, his counters were giving Bud some issues. Mayweather would dominate him to a 8-4 or 9-3 type decision, whereas it usually takes Bud 3 or 4 rounds before he gets the lay of the land, he'd never quite figure out Mayweather, just like everyone else.
floyd loses, he has never fought anybody as slick as crawford. better question is, who would win between sweet pea and crawford?
