Ortiz doesn’t bring an fan base but outside of Wilder imo represents the biggest threat. Parker was the weakest champ and we saw that by the way Dillian was able to beat him comfortable minus the knockdown. Povetkin hasn’t had a good showing in years.

So if he is well past his prime why aren’t all the heavyweight lining up to destroy this old man who a lot of people see as dangerous, surely someone wants to be the man who destroyed the boogeyman beside Wilder?

It is amazing, look at how Whyte called him out and when he accepted there hasn’t been a peep about the fight since? Hmm why won’t any of the top guys fight this ancient HW, I wonder what it is?

This. Ortiz is a skilled fighter, but isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Hearn played him like a fiddle when Ortiz was the WBA mandatory. But, at his age I guess Ortiz has to go with any offer that's on the table, since not too many people want to invest in fighters his age.

Dillian only won't "comfortably" because a head clash was ruled as a knock down otherwise it would have been a Parker win..

Povetkin has looked pretty good recently some much so that Wilder ran to the hills as opposed to facing him.. Again the WBC chose to protect Wilder as opposed to making him fight...

Povetkin out boxed AJ and took rounds off him...

As to why guys aren't lining up to fight Ortiz, well you answered that question yourself, he doesn't bring anything to the table, he only got that Wilder fight because he was useful and they reckon he was shot so it was worth the risk..

Funny guys like Scott and The White Rhino were not scared to fight Ortiz...

Scott looked pretty scared. But Scott and Allen didn’t have bull**** rankings to protect by fighting bums.

We haven't heard anything? Isn't this thread titled "Ortiz signing 3 fight deal with DAZN"?

There's this figure of speech called "reading between the lines"...

I'm pretty convinced Ortiz is being kept by Showtime to be Wilder's next PPV opponent after he kills Fury.

The rhino is a journeyman and if you don’t think Malik was scared then you didn’t see the fight. Scott tried to take several dives during that fight and barely threw any punches, fought one of the most negative fights I’ve seen since Lewis va Akinwade.

Alright man you believe that Ortiz ain’t dangerous and AJ and all the matchroom guys would fight him tomorrow.

I don’t read between the lines too fast, of course if Eddy sets up the fight with Ortiz and Whyte I will give Whyte and Eddy all the credit they derserve but him signing Ortiz doesn’t mean he is gunna put them together in the ring, he can’t force Dillian to fight him. Just like he is struggling to get Chisora to fight Dillian, AJ to fight Miller etc.

Whyte definitely doesn't want it in my opinion. He's got better options and so will keep avoiding it.

Joyce called out the boogeyman but even he said it was a fight for later down the line.

Problem Ortiz has is he wasted too much of his career and made too many bad decisions and that's left him in a precarious position where he's not worth the risk. There's always a better option.

He should of stepped up far sooner during his career he's been around forever but did nothing and when he did step up vs Kayode he got done for doping.

He should of fought Ustinov to become WBA mandatory sooner and then maybe he would of gotten a vacant title shot vs Wlad instead of Joshua. Ducking that fight twice was dumb especially because his reasoning was because for lack of VADA testing which seems ironic given his 2 failed tests.

He should of agreed to sign with Hearn as that would of eventually secured the Joshua fight as WBA mandatory. People will say Hearn still would of ducked the WBA mandatory but how, they said he'd duck Povetkin too but Povetkin got his shot. Hearn having Ortiz signed would of given him the confidence to make the Joshua fight knowing he'd still control the belts if Joshua lost. But Ortiz does what he always seems to do and made the worst possible choice. Signing to fight Wilder instead for a 10th of what he would of made vs Joshua was a dumb move.

Now Ortiz is old and on the sidelines. He's only ranked by the WBC so can't be sanctioned for a title shot vs Joshua due to his failed test so any idea of him fighting Joshua now is pointless. His only option for a title shot is Wilder again who will be tied into Fury and a possible rematch for 2019 and that might only bring another 500K payday. Anyone else who could provide a better payday like Whyte has far better options in Chisora and then Joshua. The old man is frozen out and it mainly due to his own actions.

But he's 50 or so, and has high blood pressure. 3 years? He might be dead.
