Did any of you Golovkin fans predict before the first fight that Golovkin won't KO Canelo Alvarez?

    A lot of Golovkin fans / fanatics have been claiming online and in person, that Golovkin would stop Canelo Alvarez inside the distance. Some have been claiming that Golovkin would not only stop Canelo Alvarez, but KO him brutally like he KO'ed some of the other journeymen / bums he's KO'ed.

    Since I'm not a fan of either guy and was totally neutral going into the first fight, I expected the first fight to go the distance and didn't think either guy would get KO'ed because of their durability and / or defensive skills. I thought a KO during the second fight was even less likely.

    But those of you who predicted Golovkin would stop Canelo Alvarez. You guys didn't respect Canelo Alvarez's durability then. And didn't consider Golovkin's age being a disadvantage then. And didn't respect Canelo Alvarez's defensive skills then. So what rights do you now have to all of a sudden claim that Canelo Alvarez's durability, Golovkin's old age and Canelo Alvarez's defensive skills were the reason for Golovkin's failure to KO Canelo Alvarez? You simply don't have those rights! Only the people who predicted no knockouts before the first fight, have the rights to use those excuses.

    To be objective and to avoid being hypocritical with double standards, the only thing you can state, is that Golovkin TOTALLY lacked punching power and was TOTALLY feather fisted. Anything other than those statements, would expose you as hypocrites without a consistent standard.

    When you claim Golovkin's power would KO Canelo before the fight and then Golovkin fails to KO Canelo during their fight, then objectively speaking, the only thing you can say after the fight is Golovkin lacks punching power. You can't make excuses such as Canelo's durability and defensive skills helped Canelo from not being knocked out, when you didn't make those claims before the first fight.

    It's the same with Guillermo Rigondeaux fans / fanatics claiming he would utterly school Lomachenko whilst breaking his jaw, before their fight. Whilst totally ignoring Rigondeaux's size and age disadvantages then. But after the fight is over and Rigondeaux fails to do any of those things, the hypocritical change in narrative is:

    "Rigondeaux was too old and small".

    You simply lost the right to use those excuses, since you didn't make those claims before the fight. So the only objective, non-hypocritical thing you can state, is Rigondeaux lacks punching power and / or skills. Nothing else! Since age and size wasn't an excuse before the fight, it can't be used as an excuse after the fight.

    It's the same with Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua fanatics / fanboys / fans who are so confident one would KO the other. If you make those claims, and one of them fails to KO the other, then the only non-hypocritical thing you can state is one of them lacks punching power and / or boxing skills. Claiming after the fight that Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder was too durable or too skilled defensively, as to the reason why there wasn't any KO's, will expose you lot as hypocrites.

    You lot need to remain consistent with your standards and narratives!

    I said Rigo was too old and too small beforehand.

    I also said Golovkin would need to absolute dominate 10 rounds to get a decision and was proved right there too.

    Neither of these opinions were ground-breaking though. Lots of people thought the same.

    Most of the fans predicting the robbery though. The KO was necessary cuz of that, there fore a lot of KO dreams too

    I thought Golovkin would KO Canelo in around the 9th in the first fight.

    I thought Canelo would win by robbery in the second fight.

    So I'm 1/2.

    I think the KO win for Golovkin was a reasonable prediction for the first fight. Canelo has been hurt before, and he has always had a gassing problem. Moreover he had never ever demonstrated the sort of evasive maneouvers he demonstrated in the first fight. I thought that he'd use limited movement and a lot of body sway to try to muffle GGG's attack but that ultimately he would succumb to the pressure, gas and get KO'd.

    It's now obvious to see that Canelo was severely affected physically by his weight cut to 154. His gas tank and durability took a quantum leap at 160 now that he isn't drying his body out like a sponge. He seems like twice the fighter at 160 that he was at 154. That and ... drugs.

    Regardless, if you're trying to insinuate Golovkin can't hit ... then LOL, you just exposed yourself.

    Orrrrr it could be that the one fighter aged more than you thought and the other fighter was flat out better than you thought. You're trying to force a false choice here.

    What's with all your posts about fans not being allowed to say things, about not having the "right" to say them because of some other thing they might have said? You're like a child. Grow up.

    I'm sure if one had the time and inclination, you could find plenty of occasions where he didn't apply his feeble "you said x so you can't say y" logic to himself.

    The OP may have been the best post I've ever read on ESB, and it's clearly got you triggered and into full defense mode. Because , well, that post is talking directly to you isn't it. You were one of those fanatics who thought GGG would KO Canelo I bet you were sure of it before the first fight.

    Canelo proved you wrong by not only going the distance but by outboxing GGG and putting on a clinic in the first fight. You didn't respect Canelo's durability when you made the prediction so to use that as an excuse now is comical . You lose credibility when you make bold predictions that don't happen then you complain about judges afterwards. I mean it's a terrible look.
