your shoulder is like your wrist when snapping a whip. your wrist starts the whip moving by swinging it one way, and quickly changes direction to create the snap at the end of the whip, where all the energy has been concentrated. that snap that you feel on your wrist when you crack a whip, is kind of what your shoulder does with your arm, except it also feels the collision.
the guy on the video is misleading. when you punch, you punch at a target, you dont find a target then push into it. what you want to do is punch at an imaginary spot a couple of inches past the surface of the target, thats where you are aiming to transfer the energy, thats where you want the end of that whip to crack. your whole training is to deliver that pop at the end of your shot and quickly get glove back to defensive position, whether you hit or miss.
what you want to find is the most natural way for your shoulders to create that whipping motion. pretend your arm is in a cast molded into a hook, now without using any of the muscles in your arm as if your arm was dead, swing the arm just using your shoulder so that the glove punches where you want it. you will using the same motions when delivering the actual punch. this is what separates arm punching from power punching.

its the same. take a small whip and snap it, the action that your wrist makes is the same thing your shoulder should be doing with your arm, thats why your shoulder gets out in front of the arm and swings it forward. you have to consciously be aware of how you are using your shoulders to whip your arms about when you punch, until it becomes second nature. stand in front of a mirror and practice each punch correctly and focus on your shoulders as you go through the movements, feel which muscles are involved and isolate them, then try and replicate that movement just using your shoulders, those are the muscles you will use to create the snap like it was a wrist on a whip.
its hard to explain without showing you in person everything that ties in together

My country is the netherlands the problem is if you type in Google boxing school you get like 20 kickboxing or mma gym’s and maybe like 1 or 2 boxing schools and most if the time they aren’t proper and they like fitness boxing things you know.
The thing with kickboxing this punching mechanics are way different and they don’t even know the diffrence between snapping and pushing punches they don’t even know what a snapping punch is and when they hit the heavybag and it swings all over the place they think thats right which isn’t because thats push punching the big problem is they only have love for kickboxing because they are the best at it
in the netherlands we don’t even have like a amateur boxing want to box you need to go straight pro then.
Everyone who wants amateur matches needs to go to germany because germany has a very wide amateur system.
Most boxers in netherlands are just kickboxers and have no fundamentels
    Thats why they aren’t succesful
There is only one gym in the entire country that is a proper gym that teaches the way it should be.
And they let there fighters fight amateur matches in germany and they are the only team with proper amateur boxers the girl that won silver at olympics and a lightheavyweight that fought in the olympics too thats it.
Thats the only proper gym but i can’t train there because it’s too far from home. Germany has also good gym’s but it’s in germany too far.
So the thing i do is to learn for myself hitting heavybag hitting pads and asking Some kickboxers to spar with me on only boxing rules it sucks but boxing is my passion i continue doing it.
Glad for this site so many people helped me improved alot despite doing everything by my own but i got that hunger i want to learn it get in fighting shape and try to get a amateur fight first and continue from there.
I study boxing everyday boxing history current boxing strategy everything watch alot of fights i learned alot in short period of time know alot of the basics and work on them i keep on going i think i know alot about boxing not everything but i learned alot

thats why it takes years to get to where its an automatic response to triggers you will learn to look for. buy yourself a speedbag or a double end bag and start working on your timing and coordination, it will help you develop a rhythm and smoothness to your movement.
you sound like your heart is really into this, so i applaud you and wish you luck. once you feel comfortable throwing the punches correctly, you need to find a coach that can tighten up any deficiencies in movement or defense when throwing those punches. always be aware where your chin is, you need to get in the habit of keeping it tucked, always, this is where you start to drill that habit into your movement until youre doing it without thinking.
what a story it would make if you made it to the olympics to represent your country, after chasing it the way youre doing.

I keep on chasing i don’t know but maybe i got it down i don’t know for sure when i punch do i need to lead my shoulder so to say it gives a type of fibarating feeling in my shoulder when punching for hooks i and uppercuts i got it down in the mirror i can see my shoulder snapping throwing hooks uppercuts and gives a more powerful response on the bag makes more sound feel more impact and the Bag shakes instead of swings only my straights where still pushy but i been practicing now again and when i kinda lead the shoulder and punch and let my shoulder follow my punch it kinds fibirates or do i need to raise the shoulder when i punch and drop it at the end? Gives the same feeling but can’t get that shoulders popping with my straights i look for the pop in the mirror to see if they snap
