Getting his on the arms and chest hurt me more than getting hit in the head. I did have headgear on, however I was caught with a few hard straight shots down the pipe, I took them fine however when I got hit with a shot to the chest it completely wrecked me. As did repeated punches on my arms. I'd prefer to take all shots to the head than body shots, no problem.

    Is this normal?

If you refer to taking shots to the forehead then yes, it's normal, but taking shots to the chin and the nose is the most disgusting thing i ve ever tried lol

    Same with me too!

The earlier this month too I was sparring and took a few shots to the rib area/chest. Set me back about 2 weeks of hard training...

And nothing was even broken too, just bruised.

Bruised ribs can put you out for a good few weeks

Yeah, body shots are horrible. I think most pros agree they hurt way more too

Worst pain I ever had was getting punched in throat, should have kept my chin down and took it on that.

body shots hurt for a long time, they don't go away quickly. If you have not been boxing that long you get hit and get dazed but then recover (head shot), get hit in the right place at the right time in the body and it hurts for a few days to a few weeks

I caught a straight right to the Solarplexus and my nervous system simply shut down. Horrible, horrible experience.

I only boxed a half dozen times as an amateur.

There are two punches I took that really stand out.

Getting drilled in the Solarplexus was one.

Getting hit behind and below the ear was the other. That's the one that really hurt. And I was very, very lucky that I didn't suffer permanent damage from it.
