You can put a transdermal steroid cream on your hand and shake his hand or smear it on something you know he will touch and boom he can test positive for a pretty long time with some compounds.

Spike his water, bribe his cook or his cutman even.

So what should a fighter do? Privately Pay for a seperate Testing program where he tests himself to make sure he isn't being set up? Ok so if he tests himself and tests positive now what? Should he go to vada or will they just assume he's looking for an excuse to not be tested for a while?

Fair point, but thankfully that hasn't been a problem yet. If it does happen, we'll have to think of ways around this, such as what you describe.

    Difficult question though.

If I was a crooked promoter and I could benefit from some fighter testing positive( for example if my fighter was ducking that fighter and I wanted to swerve the fight) I would definitely think of something like that.

Imagine if casinos start taking bets on who tests positive next!

What if you get framed for a murder someone else committed and end up doing life in prison?

Life is unfair. Not much anyone can do to prevent that situation, it’s just terrible luck.

    Good question.
VADA’s and USADA’s etc are not really conducting any investigations, they’re just testing and then deciding what to do with results.
I’d take these matters to court, let the investigators dig up all the evidence to clear my name and try to nail the *******s that way, along with potentially getting a nice compensation for defamation and loss of profits.

Yeah the thing is that there are crooks in boxing that could really benefit from a rival promoters fighter testing hot. I wouldn't dismiss it as something as rare as somebody getting framed for murder.

To go to prison for murder you go to trial for months and months were you have plenty of time to provide just enough proof for "reasonable doubt"

In boxing, one positive test and you're a cheat and that's that.

And you and I (especially as lifters who know what a natural body looks like) know that until very recently most top guys were no where close to natural. I mean you look at any heavyweight fight from the 90s and it's a steroid fest!!

So I just feel like the whole drug testing and PED thing needs to be looked at more realistically. I don't think a negative nor a positive test proves anything at all

There are thresholds with most compounds, so merely shaking someone's hand and getting a transdermal steroid on your skin could easily be explained when they check your levels.

With a prescription before hand it's very easy to get away with micro dosing and long as your levels don't go beyond the acceptable limit. When I used to help my Roomate promote MMA fights back in 2005-2006 most of the fighters were on some kind of substance, but with the help of a good strength & conditions coach it's very easy to get what you need in your system and for your levels tombs in the clear.

One of the partners in the promotion was a former fighter and he would setup specific dosing, training, and diet schedules for the fighters and none of the fighters ever failed a test.

Even Mikey Bey almost got away with doping, but the idiot let his levels get too high and had to face a suspension.

This also happened with Overeem, who screwed up the timing of his dosing, since he let his levels get to high and came up with the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard.

Overeem level's over twice what they should be.

White is clearly upset with Overeem, who he has said repeatedly told him and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta multiple times that he was "the most tested man in sports." At Tuesday's NSAC hearing, Overeem said that he received an anti-inflammatory shot for an injured rib from a doctor in January, which unbeknownst to him, contained testosterone. He gave himself another shot right before he was asked to take a random drug test following a March 27 press conference in Las Vegas. He ended up failing the drug test when his testosterone to epitestosterone ratio came back at 14:1, which is more than double the NSAC's limit of 6:1.

In this messed up world and the amount of money getting chucked around in this sport and the amount of unsavoury characters that are lurking in the background of it i dont think spiking fighters food or anything being out of the realms of reality.

Wasnt that long ago Tyson Fury took all his own food and drinks over to Germany when he was about to fight Wlad and would refuse to ingest anything that was not brought from within his own camp. Just to be sure.
