Does wilder get credit for beating Tyson fury if he knocks him out in a round?

Any fight that only lasts a round leads people to think imo that the other guy just wasn't warmed up or leads to an excuse of some sort. I think after a few rounds its clearer obviously

 

They are a strange thing indeed.
Inoue's performance vs McDonnel got criticised by quite a few. But then in his very next fight he did it again.
Williams VS Quintana was an odd one. Quintana was clearly the better fighter in the first fight, but Williams easily disposed of him in the rematch.

 

The only way I'd give Wilder credit for a victory, is if throughout the first few rounds Fury looks like he's in any kind of shape. He looked absolutely terrible in the last two fights.

 

fury is finished, hes cashing out.

 

It's going to be hard for me to give wilder any credit because quite simply if Fury us in 70% of his best, he beats wilder.

I guess if Fury looks amazing for several rounds and wilder eventually times him and takes him out id give him credit for that, but if Fury isn't thoroughly dominant early, or he gasses out then we know he's shot.

 

What credit do we give him? Credit for beating an unbeaten lineal champion? or credit for beating somebody who has gone off the rails with drink and drugs and has done about 6 poor looking rounds against 2 guys who are nowhere near the top 100 of the division in the last 3 years?

Fury needs more rounds under his belt, we know it, Tyson and Warren know it and mostly wilder and Finkel know it, or they wouldn't of took the fight at all.

 

I hope so. Really want Deontay to be regarded as number 1, once he dismantles the gypsy king. The bodybuilder Joshua can then be regarded as the first unified paper champion, lol.

 

This. He also doesn't have Peter in his corner, which I think will have a huge impact.

 

Some of you people... I really do question the general knowledge and boxing IQ of the people who post these types of ridiculous thread. There is no chance Fury is getting knocked out in one.

 

Yep, there's a high possibility Fury struck gold against an ancient Klitschko and now making money of that victory.

 

Against a fella that brings F all to the table moneywise ??? Nah, he's convinced he can beat Wilder which will lead to the real money then with Joshua !

 

It ain't happening but if it did it would just add to the idea that Fury wasn't ready.

Only way I could give Wilder credit is if he out boxed Fury fairly and looked good doing so. Wilder isn't rated very highly as a boxer he relies on his power to bail him out but if he can show more than just power then I'd give him credit for improving his boxing skills.

 

I was thinking this the other day. Wilder needs a bit of adversity and for Fury to look good against him in the early going for it to be worth much to him.

 

Lets be real, the people who value this fight will value it no matter what. The people who don't won't give it credit no matter what. There are maybe 10-20% of poster the conduct of the fight itself may actually matter to (tbf, unless Fury looks grossly out of shape, I don't think it really SHOULD matter). The conduct of the fight will matter alot more to casuals than to those who visit online forums.
