What's happened to Frank Warren and BT sports putting Hearn/Sky out of business?

No doubt we will see a post about Hearn is in trouble and he f****d himself, I think it was more a case of under BT they went too fast too soon. It has taken around 10 years for the Matchroom model to mature. As some said earlier when did boxing fans come on here to discuss numbers, at the end of the day the only **** Hearn/Warren will get from me is if they put on a crap card.

I'd like to see Frank as new CEO of BT. Imagine a total G like Frank running a major telecoms firm.

In reference to the crowd trouble at Warren's shows. Isn't it because he pays only for security around the ring area. The rest of the arena has the in house security which is hopeless. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. It does seem more prevalent in Warren's shows and he's the type to laugh it off and say "Matchroom shows have fights too, why are you only bothered when we have crowd trouble" it or something equally as ridiculous.

 

Remember that picture from a few years ago? The one with Warren, Hatton, Maloney and other promoters all joining hands. It was like a coalition against Matchroom. I wish BT would add other promoters like Hennnesy. Warren doesn't have a big enough stable to have regular shows.

 

Who actually believed BT would "takeover" from sky? I doubt there were many tbh. It never looked a possibility. Sky are simply far too long in the game and now Hearn has ventured beyond Sky, internationally with DAZN who could take over the sport worldwide. Hearn will never be caught by Warren now.

Although Frank gets way too much stick. I've said it before, his survival in the sport is unprecedented. Eddie is much better with opportunities and money but Frank is the best survivor out there. He's now risen from the ashes to land a good broadcaster and a solid stable. Just because he's way behind Hearn, doesn't mean he's not doing well.

Why is everyone so quick to put promoters and boxers down? It is possible to have two successful promoters you know, even if one is more successful than the other. Lets just enjoy the good things both do, and criticise the bad. Warren has fighters in some great upcoming fights. Putting said fights down is just needless. Enjoy them.

 

In the long run Sky are done for.

Everything will move over to streaming services in 20 years. The sky business model is a thing of the past.

Eddie is a smart cookie and his association with DAZN allows him to spread his options.

Fwank needs to get BT to accelerate its own streaming services. It’s crazy that they still don’t have internet streaming of BT content, given its background!

BT in the long run is better placed than Sky to survive the revolution. Sky is massively dependent on Prem football for its subscriber base and that’s being sliced and diced.

 

Sky has now TV which is a streaming service already. Its spread across Europe now so basically can bid to buy pan European rights etc.

BT has the best streaming app. You can Chromecast it to the big screen. Perfect for sports and can get it with some phone bundles I think.

When BT does a PPV you can’t stream it unless you are a BT paid for customer. BT doesn’t have the equivalent of Now tv for streaming its services per day, per month.

As far as I am concerned BT is behind and needs to wake up.

I know Sky has now tv. I was referring to their ability to charge mugs £120 per month for English premier league- those days are gone. As is there ability to monopolise all the games and pay way over the odds for the rights.

Essentially the old sky model is dead. The new pie they are competing for is smaller and they will be losing rights left right and centre. Also unlike the BBC they are facing the free market, so their far leftist trash of a news channel and current affairs is getting the middle finger from more and more people. The BBC has its capita thugs to force you into buying its pseudo Marxist far left globalist trash.
