    I think the footage of Greb's spar with Billy Pickles has hurt his standing a bit, compared to what it was when most Classic forumites just had Boxrec and newspapers to go on.

    Seems to have gone from a well-schooled, well-rounded superheavyweight to an unskilled slob who didn't know how to avoid punches or utilize his size.

    Joe was responding to a typical Ali ragging when Ali was talking about fighting Liston, Williams, Folley, etc. But Ali didn't envision himself being flat on his back on March 8, 1971 (FOTC).

    15 seconds of throwaway non ring action doesn't quite nullify 300 fights and victories over 13 hall of famers, many multiple times. Close but no cigar.

    Lennox Lewis overrated a bit. His loyalists act like the one punch ko losses didn't happen or offer up the exuses for them.

    ...but that was because of insane Tyson hype, ignoring that he didn't look at all like prime Tyson, though, combined with the fact Holyfield had looked like crap against Bobby Czyz.

    This matchup happened at least 5 years to late.

    Yes I remember well the hype around Tyson at the time - Baddest Man On The Planet, invincible, master of intimidation, the entourage he had all dressed in black, back to his best etc.

    In fairness the way he destroyed Bruno and Seldon was very convincing at the time, the loss to Douglas and the wars of attrition with Ruddock were explained away by Tyson being distracted by personal issues and not preparing properly.
