Terrible fight but not surprising at all, which is a shame would like to see him in some better match ups before he's totally over the hill.

He's wasting what little time he has left he's going to be 40 only 5 months. But as I said not surprising he spent the vast majority of his career just treading water and not testing himself.

Unbelievable from Ortiz. The only logical reason is they are promising the Wilder rematch if not he’s been very badly advised.

What's the point? Complete waste of a camp for Ortiz

Whatever happened that guy who hyped the **** out of Kauffman some years back on here? Dude must have been a relative or a really close friend.

If Fury was actually serious about returning the ring and trying to get back to the top he'd take that fight as opposed to cashing out against Wilder.

Really limited options for Whyte's PPV in December if the Chisora fight fails to materialise. Brezeale is on the Charlo undercard, now Ortiz is fighting this dumpling. I can see Hearn getting desperate and having to overpay Chisora to save his PPV show. Less than 9 weeks to go, time is running out.

True if Haymon wanted it, it would happen but I think he might be delaying this to allow Joyce some time to gain experience. Joyce himself said he wanted the fight but not just yet.

I think with Ortiz being nearly 40 Haymon doesn't have any real desire to give Ortiz another title shot, hence why he's fighting Cojanu and then Kaufmann. If he beats Wilder he has an old champion that will retire soon who he can't cash in on for very long.

He's more likely to use Ortiz to build the reputation of one of his younger heavies like Joyce. If I was Haymon I'd keep Ortiz fighting over matched opponents til he looks vulnerable and then have Joyce or another of his younger heavies pick off the old man and build them as the next big heavyweight threat to the winner of Joshua/Wilder if it ever happens.

While Ortiz is fighting nobodies, Haymon has Martin and Kownacki fighting each other, giving Breazeale a mandatory vs Wilder and Miller despite fighting weak opposition is trying to get a shot for the WBA regular belt. Plus Michael Hunter Jr another of his heavies just beat Kiladze and then Bakole. Why isn't Ortiz getting these kind of opportunities under Haymon? Maybe I'm off base but I don't see Haymon doing much for Ortiz anytime soon.

Breazeale is the mandatory cant see how that's possible with also a Fury rematch and whyte still in the mix somewhere carrying the silver belt which may be fighting Ortiz in the future as a eliminator?

All this is speculation bc I think fury will win and will be a curve ball in certain guys waiting or trying to finagle a wilder title shot.

Haymon was not involved with Joyce when Joyce challenged himl, that fight could have been planted over a month ago .

If Ortiz came out publicly and wanted the fight he would get it anyway and joyce would not back out if he was challenged not asked . No one is forcing Ortiz to fight Kaufman, and he Haymon has to pay Ortiz and Joyce anyway there on the same card hes not losing money,in reality he wins bc he would up the PPV buys with that fight , dont be foolish they desperately need to do to ensure Wilders a PPV success but a big fight is not affordable with the Wilder/fury fight on a over charged PPV unless the fighters are on the same card, which they are..lol

The fact is Ortiz has a poor track record hand picking very beatable fighters in a long career, this is why his status is suffering along with his popularity. Im not saying he should fight Joyce bc I think he probably loses but he goes out of his way not to get good guys fans want to see. You cant flip the switch on whyte because it has nothing to do with Ortiz on his own card.

When Whyte offered Ortiz a July 28th fight at the 02 he didn't want it. There was no crying then ,there shouldn't be now. Ortiz should worry about his own career.

Travis Kauffman? Seriously? Travis Kauffman. Kauffman. Really?
That's the only body they could find on that particular evening?

Poor fight I’m assuming Ortiz is the back up plan in case Fury,or even Wilder, pulls out of the fight.

Ortiz stays busy and on stand by. If he was in a good fight there’s a chance 2 good fights get ruined if Fury pulls out.

No one complains if Ortiz-Kauffman got cancelled if Ortiz needs to cover for Fury

    1. Joyce is with Haymon since Mid August. The fight wasn't even in talk at that point as Joyce fought Kiladze one month later as his US debut.
    2. Whyte NEVER offered Ortiz a July 28th fight, Whyte never wanted to fight Ortiz.

What are you talking about ffs? You are completly out of your mind man.

Let's not forget that Kauffman has an unofficial win over one of Wilder's best opponents. One could say that Wilder fought Kauffman's leftovers.

The issue is the wbc have lost control of the situation. Letting Wilders camp effectively choose competition. With Breazeale being a haymon guy means they could give him more step aside money.
