The start of the 12th round of the second Eubank vs Watson fight.

I was 13 when I watched that live on TV and I knew that boxers could sustain serious injuries from hitting their head on the canvas or ropes when they get knocked down.

When Watson's head hit the ropes at the end of the 11th round I thought there could be a problem.

When the referee had to pull Watson towards the centre of the ring at the start of the 12th round I knew straight away that he had a brain injury.

    It was a horrible feeling.

What a lot of people don't remember is that in his post-fight interview Eubank accused Watson of taking steroids.

What an idiot that man is.

When I knew that one of my most favourite fighters Gerald McClelland got a brain damage in the fight against Nigel Benn and he could not fight anyone anymore because he's blind. So sad!!!

    - Benny "Kid" Paret vs Emile Griffith
it's an old documentary video, but it's really terrifying to see such a mindless slaughter on the ring. The documentary also shown about the event 40+ years later when Griffith met Paret's son and how the old boxer have been sorry the whole of his life and how Paret's son forgive him. It's so sad and touching.

    - Ali vs Holmes
It's a crime, that's it. Even mom and dad know the story and told me about it.

Pac got shafted against the home fighter twice, as I even predicted the Bradley one, by expecting nationality would trump starpower.
And of course you can find the exceptions to the rule, as in about every 20 to 30 instances, there's a decision that goes the other way for some reason, and they stick into memory for being anomalies.

Watching James Toney give an interview now. Any boxer who suffers from being punch drunk the list is long.

I blame the ref, not Benn, I liked Benn as a fighter a lot…watch the fight, Rabbit punching during clinches was more than excessive but allowed…I’m no expert so maybe you can let me know what type of injury one would expect from rabbit punching and what the rule against it is meant to protect.

I didn’t know that about McClellan but if true would definitely change my opinion of him.

Not really sad to anyone else but on a personal level, it's always sad to see your favorite boxers careers start to take a massive dive.
