Every fighter needs to learn to pace himself it is intrinsic to boxing!
Marciano was fighting past prime men getting on for 40 and none of them were 6'3"225lbs and could hit like a truck!

Walcott was a great puncher, Moore and Layne could also swing

How about Bill Wilson? 229lbs and, from a picture he's in standing next to a 6'3" fighter, we can assume he's 6'3"+

Shkor was 6'4-5" 220lbs but he wasn't in his best, having to comeback from a 1st round knockout to Walcott

Tate held Harry Wills to a draw, at the absolute pinnacle of Will's dominance as a contender.

Now either Tate was pretty good, or Wills was not all that.

You can't have it both ways!

Wilson never got started against Marciano he sustained a cut almost immediatel yand the fight was stopped.Wilson and Schkor were also second raters then ,I thought we were talking about class fighters,or do you want to include Humphrey Jackson?
Tate was sparring partner level, and Wills may very well be overated IF that fight was kosher and thats a big IF!

He also beat Wills (in a DQ tbf), went the distance with Wills in another fight, beat Sam Langford in a few fights, and went the distance with Joe Jeanette

Tate was the sparring partner of demspey for a reason

Second rate but still big. A cut is part of the game, maybe Wilson shouldnt have gotten hit. I think we all know Marciano would've gone on to win that. To assume anything else is trolling or skepticism gone awry

Walcott still hit like a mule as well.

Humphrey Jackson was probably some fatass that would've gone on to be the next Butterbean if Marciano hadnt violated him so early in his career

Diminishing returns, I like that, partly because I believe it to be true...at least with the most thudding punchers in history.

Langford's stature and George's ability to shove you back to his preferred range does not bode well for Sam, but because the latter was so crafty, because he was so tough and powerful, (cropped at a time when boxer's accumulated more experience during their 'ascendency' than modern champion's do after ten defences), that it's tough to rule him out.

Will's was a big guy. Sam could rock George with the right shot.

The truth must surely lie somewhere between.

Tate was obviously a lot better than his career suggests, and Wills perhaps had a plane of weakness.

Anyone care to tell me how many punches a round Marciano averaged against Walcott?

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I just had to laugh at this non-sense. In a thread full of terrible posts, I think yours' might've been the worst if not for the sheer comedy of this part.
