I'm becoming real tired of believing the hype (or the people that continue to spin it) around "our" HW's and them patently being bad when they step up one level. Bakole, Dubois and now Fury in the last few weeks.
He landed a couple of good right hands. Given that's the shot he was trying to land all night his success ratio with it was abysmal. Pulev was ok, decent, that is for his age and for someone who's been out a while. He was ok, had the beating of fury quite comfortably. He was grinning quite a lot throughout probably couldnt believe how predictable and ponderous Hughie was. No chance against the best in the division but still a decent gatekeeper level for the top 10.
I agree, because he has much better athleticism, speed and accuracy but his fundamentals are on a similar level to Hughie's. Difference is ones a fit athlete witht dynamite hands and the other couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding.
Don’t see why anyone thinks Hughie deserves to fight at World level after all his best win is Sam Sexton ffs
The fact that Pulev is so limited makes Fury look worse. As a taller , faster, fitter young man , he would've outmoved his opponent to a points win if he was any good. It was a shockingly poor performance for someone held up as world class. Pulevs mediocrity enforces my point.
Yes he probably IS top 10 British heavy ...you are right. Fringe world contender ? No. Did you watch the fight ? He was embarrassed by an ageing inactive man , who to his credit, understood his own limitations and boxed sensibly within them.
Only watched bits but saw Fury back himself into a corner, sticking his jab out just trying to lure Pulev onto a right hand. I saw him do this, not once, but twice in succession once he moved out then moved back into the corner. Then he moved into the OTHER corner and did the exact same thing. Couldn't believe what I was seeing, was expecting him to fight like vs Parker / Sexton, moving around and jabbing but it was the complete opposite. I hope he had some kind of injury, otherwise it was one of the most bizarre tactics/performance ive ever seen.
I did My card R1 10-9 FURY R2 10-9 PULEV R3 10-9 FURY R4 10-9 PULEV R5 10-9 PULEV R6 10-9 PULEV R7 10-9 PULEV R8 10-9 FURY R9 10-9 PULEV R10 10-9 PULEV R11 10-9 FURY R12 10-10 EVEN 116-113 PULEV
I thought he'd found his man strength lol, He got beat up off a old guy that hadn't fought for 18 month. He knocks out sexton and suddenly decides he's the next Mike tyson.
When tyson gets laid out by Wilder maybe some of you will start appreciating what AJ has done these last few years
Don't worry Pulev will be mandated now and joshua will ktfo the guy who schooled the beloved fluff fury
