Please quote your sources for the rights fee claim and for the DAZN paying guaranteed money claim. Both these things are completely fabricated. The FACT is, AJ's biggest US fight drew 400,000 less viewers than Fury's. Please let me know exactly why you think that is.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....hony-joshua-purse-earn-klitschko-10300240.amp Here you go...in the last paragraph. It was £8m for Klitschko and likely close to £6m for Parker. Think about it 78,000 tickets with an average price of £75 not really hard to work out. Even if he only sold half the tickets it’s still astonishingly more.
So that is clearly an estimate from The Mirror that makes little sense. The overwhelming majority of tickets sold were in the £40-£80 bracket. But this figure gives an average of £89. If you knew a bit about large scale events you'd know that this doesn't make sense. The article is printed after the event but it says that the gate "will generate £8mn". This is clearly a poor guess and not an official number. Can you please show me where the gate for any Mis-Matchroom AJ fight has been officially announced as it is in the US? You also said AJ has had multiple "£7mn gates". Please can you post a source for at least one other. It is common knowledge that AJ has never sold anywhere near 90,000 tickets again since this event and his attendances have been on a downward trend ever since.
Wilder is the mostcexciting HW in boxing, like him or not and i am not a huge fan. That being said hearn and joshua have been nothing but cowardly
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....-11-fight-365-million-contract-with-dazn/amp/ You might not have heard but Canelo just signed a big contract with DAZN for gauranteed money. Essentially this is a rights fee. They are paying him $33.1m per fight guaranteed. It’s common knowledge DAZN pays a rights fee for the right to broadcast the fight on their platform. They do not do PPV so all of the money is paid without a need for numbers. They take a gamble it will drive subscriptions. The original press conference stated that the deal with Eddie was with Matchroom excluding Joshua who’s fights would be on a per fight basis. It really does not matter why AJ had a few viewers less in the US when he’s the draw brings all the money to the table has DAZN backing him in the US and everyone desperate to fight him as he is the golden ticket. You’re arguing over a completely pointless argument and letting your hatred of AJ cloud your ability to be realistic. I hope all the guys fight each other and do financially well. If I was being petty I could just say to you Joshua vs Povetkin did the biggest viewership in US boxing history if he didn’t post your source? But I really don’t have a dog in this fight. If you can’t see what Joshua brings to the table and that he holds all the cards it’s up to you. But it will be proven when eventually Wilder and or Fury take the deal Joshua offers them in order to fight.
Sorry, where does the guaranteed rights fee for AJ get mentioned in that article? Can you please get back on topic and address exactly why AJ drew 400,000 less viewers for his biggest US fight than Fury did?
Deary me. Enjoy your life mate. It’s common sense if you understand the model DAZN work under. Why does Fury pulling in more viewers once upon a time really matter? In this conversation what does that prove? OK Fury pulled more viewers on one occasion if it makes you happy as I said my life is not impacted by petty arguments on the internet. Fury and Wilder are the biggest draws and AJ should offer them £100m each to fight him. If that makes you happy? Now we can maybe just have a reasonable conversation on the matter with other forum members. Im not here to spend all day arguing with a poster who argues on every thread he’s in as luckily this board doesn’t define my life.
And it happens again. Another Brit casual chooses personal insults as a comeback to my logic and facts. Just to be clear, you responded to a post of mine that was not replying to you or referencing you in any way. If you choose to post a load of non-sense in my direction I will address it. If you don't want me to call you out, please feel free to reply to someone else's post with your non-sense. If you want a reasonable conversation, cut out the tangential falsehoods and let me know why you think Fury's biggest US fight drew 400,000 more viewers than AJ's. That was the point you replied to in the first place and you are yet to actually answer the question.
Cool story bro . I was new to the forum and didn’t realise the type of poster you were. Just seen you 5000 comments this morning all on wilder vs fury related threads.
Fury's viewer numbers anywhere don't really mean much without caveating what he actually earned if we're discussing percentage splits and leverage. Fury earned according to Forbes £5m for the Klitschko fight, most other reports have it between £3.5-4.0m. Being a yank but living in the UK I've go no real affinity to either nationality at this stage, however I can tell you this: Fury is not a big draw or a popular fighter in the UK, by any stretch. People are not going to throw money at his fights, as A) people don't like him personally and B) his fights are generally considered boring by most fans and ESPECIALLY the casuals, who want to see people being rendered unconscious. Fury/Wilder getting an even percentage split is just not going to happen, more chance of seeing pigs fly.
