GGG and his team were moaning about having to fight Charlo back when he was a champ on HBO. Charlo the mando would have had to go to him if he had beaten Canelo , not the other way around. But they made it very clear the plan was to fight Murata , not Charlo , so its possible Golovkin would have dropped his WBC belt when he was ordered to give Charlo a shot.

If GGG was to beat Charlo , he'd not do it without taking some serious punishment. Its one thing to get touched up by light hitting Willy Munroe , its another to take the kind of heavy leather Charlo dishes out. GGG doesn't need a guy like Charlo in his life right now even though a win will grant him the rubber match against Canelo.
A Jack Culcay fight or Dom Wade rematch suit Golovkin better.
