Dave Higgins: "Dillian Whyte is scared of Joseph Parker"

Why does he need to rematch parker? They fought, Dillian won. End of story.

They'll fight again, Whyte will win, people will still complain.

Parker is still young, he's team needs to stop being desperate as there'll be plenty of time for rematches after Dillian gets a title shot.

Parker lost two fights in a row, that's his problem, not Dillians.

Dillian has won 8 in a row.

Dillian gets a title shot, then he can fight whoever the eff ever.

 

Higgins is embarrassing himself by saying something so stupid. Parker needs to go ahead and work his way back up you don’t get another big shot after two back to back losses. Dillian beat him convincingly except for the late knock down.

Ruiz jr- some said he lost
Cojanu- looked awful
Joshua- lost and didn't impress
Whyte- lost and didn't impress

Higgins needs to stop talking all the time and get parker on a run and change his camp and start looking impressive

I'm tired of team parker acting like gentlemen and saying no excuses then turning around and making excuses

 

You forgot the Fury fight which was another really close fight.

 

Officials this, officials that. He LOST. And that's that. Higgins has twice blamed the refs/judges. Lightning doesn't strike twice. If Parker was good enough he'd have beaten Whyte decisively. But he didn't.

 

Yeah, he came awfully close to losing though. And his 1st KD wasn't a KD at all.

How sure are you he'd win?

His age doesn't have much to do with it. The way the fight went calls for a rematch, and without it Parker might lose a year.

And that's why he wants the rematch of course.

And lost to the same guy Parker lost to before that.

Sure he gets it and he can, but does he really want to become the next Salido?

 

i don't want to see it again and i don't see what it gets Whyte, but Parker's name should've at least been on the shortlist. Whyte did need a headclash being falsely called as a knockdown to win

 

Just angling for a rematch. It was close and Whyte held on by the skin of his teeth and the first KD was an accidental butt so I can see why they want it but can't blame Whyte for moving past it, he's on the verge of a title rematch against Joshua that will be worth millions more so that's gonna be top priority.

I do think they will fight again down the line though, its still a big fight and the first was quality so would sell well. Parker needs to just work on getting a few wins and trying to improve himself before getting himself back in line for a big fight imo.

 

Has Joseph Parker ever had an even moderately impressive performance against a top 15 HW ?? Every time I've seen him he's stunk the place out.

Hughie Fury - Atrocious fight against a novice

AJ - Didn't attempt to win the fight after he realized how good AJ was, spent 12 rounds just trying to survive in a UNIFICATION fight

Whyte - Tried to steal a win rather take it by doing the bare minimum and taking zero risks, thankfully he was in with a throwback fighter with a warrior's mentality who didn't allow him turn it into a snoozefest

So it's ironic that Joey's team is accusing Dillian Whyte of being a coward when it's their fighter that has showed a complete lack of heart and balls on several occasions.

Never want to see Joey 'fight' again.

 

Look, a win is a win, it is not always going to be wide or dominant, because then it aint a challenging or competitive division.

Dillian Whyte won that day, convincingly. Yeah he did get caught at the end but it was more because he was tired, being 15 pounds overweight and pushing the pace for 12 rounds its a miracle he achieved that.

He knocked Parker down cleanly, and good for Parker for getting up.

Dillian doesn't owe you or parker anything. And so what if he lost to AJ, he accepted it, wasn't in good shape... now he is miles better.

Yes he's age matters a lot actually, it's kinda how you map out your career moves in boxing, and what fights to take. Something called mileage too factors in here? Body punishment etc? You familiar with these terms?

Nothing calls for a rematch, you are clearly speaking as a desperate fight fan, only because you want it.

I don't want to see a rematch now. It's subjective as to who does, and it means nothing. It's up to dillian. That's how boxing works. As there is no belt on the line, or mandatory or rematch clause.

Parker and team went into that fight knowing that it was a massive risk. All talk before the fight was lose this one and it's the back of the queue. It wasn't a title fight or final eliminator so no rematch can be mandated.

Then parker etc in there and puts in a listless performance before finally going for it in the last 60 seconds when let's be honest it was only due to Whyte being so gassed he looked like he needed oxygen that Parker got a knockdown.

Basically he put himself in this position.

 

Ridiculous. Whyte beat Parker with nothing on the line, would Parker owe Whyte a rematch if the result went his way, no. End of story, and Higgin's is a moron.

 

Parker and Higgins need to be chasing wilder up. It's the modern trend to target the weakest champ for an easy belt and seeing as wilder doesn't want Joshua any time soon I'd try target him.
