Parker was lucky to beat Carlos Takam before he became world champion. It was a close fight but felt like Takam edged it with a close but clear decision. He should have had his first loss there. If the fight wasn't in New Zealand, he would have always lost this fight.

Then he fought Andy Ruiz Jr for the WBO Heavyweight championship. A fight where Ruiz Jr took control, had the best of them in the exchanges and dealt with Parkers so called power easily. If this fight was in the USA, he would have won wide. But again it was in New Zealand, so the judges granted Parker a decision.

The fight with Hughie Fury was terrible to watch. You may say that Fury ran away during the fight, but Parker did not show anything neither and got outjabbed. Parker's win was a big surprise.

Against Joshua he was completely awful. Did not show any aggression and was happy with his pay cheque and losing a wide UD. Povetkin lost by TKO but at least he tried to win the fight, which wasn't the case for Parker.

In July he fought the also mediocre boxer in Dillian Whyte. Parker normally has the advantage in speed, chin, power, but showed NO HEART at all in this fight. Parker was happy to lose, did not dispute a knockdown while being headbutted and had zero intention to win this fight.

He may be a good guy outside the ring, but inside he is just very limited. He should retire. If he gets another shot at the title, he will happy to collect another pay cheque and don't bother of the outcome. He has the qualities to be a solid boxers but that doesn't matter if you don't have any heart.

He definitely lost to Fury, Joshua and Whyte. Didn't watch the other two.

Having said that, I'd still back him to chin glass jaw Wilder

    BS thread.

Parker beat Takam, Ruiz Jr and Fury legit.

    He lost to Joshua.

He deserved a draw vs. Whyte without the bull**** knockdown and the headbutt.

    LMAO

He lost to Joshua and Whyte and the Whyte fight was razor close.

He beat Takam clearly even if it was a tough fight. Ruiz and Fury were both close fights, I though he edged both but wouldn't be too fussed if you picked against him.

He could do it, he has the qualities for it but probably won't throw any punches and go full defensive mode without showing heart to end up losing.

Parker beat Takam 116-112, Takam was competitive but didn't come close to winning.

I had him beating Ruiz Jr 115-113 or possibly a draw, close fight but Parker did enough.

He easily beat Fury 118-110 imo, Fury did nothing to win that fight.

He lost to AJ 117-111 but he was competitive against the beat HW in the division.

I had the Whyte fight 6-6 with a KD each and the BS KD edging Whyte ahead. Without that headbutt early I think Parker edges this one.

Parker-Wilder/Povetkin/Ortiz are competitive fights and I think they, along with AJ, are the top 5 HWs right now with Whyte being 6 and T. Fury not figuring in the top ten until he gets a legit comeback win.

I love how you claim Fury, Takam and Ruiz were robberies, yet Whyte was legit

The hypocrisy there nullifies your own argument.

It was an easy win for Whyte. Parker did well in the first and last round but arguably lost the other 10 rounds including suffering 2 knockdowns.

No way he lost to Takam.

So the whole thread should be avoided right from the off as it’s clearly not an objective opinion.

That's like saying Broner should be 30-7, going 0-3 in his last 3 and 2-4 in his last 6.

Parker had a couple of close fights, but it's not that he actually received gifts of some sort. If he had been American he probably would have been 25-1 or even 26-0 and maybe the current #1 at HW. If he had say a Spanish nationality he probably would have been 22-4 or 21-5 by now for sure.
But there's nothing wrong with his current 24-2.

How can you win any fight without actually showing the intention to win? Parker was smiling after the fight.

    Anyway if you fight.....

    Carlos Takam
    Andy Ruiz jnr
    Hughie Fury
    Anthony Joshua
    Dillian Whyte

Then it isn’t going to be plain sailing.we should credit guys for taking hard fights not disrespect them with crap like this.
