Damn man the viewer numbers came in and they were shockingly low
500k average viewers for the main event
    Not even 5,000 in attendance
Jacobs cant draw in his own backyard.
Jacobs Charlo would draw at most 8,000 in attendance. Do they even break 1 million in live gate sales? Would viewership break 1 million on Showtime?
No wonder Jacobs wants that Canelo fight REAL bad. Its his only chance to make a cool 7 to 10 million bucks. 10 million being on the high end.
People made fun of GGG's PPV ratings but the fact remains when coupled with a big star like Canelo, TOGETHER, they hold the 3rd and 4th HIGHEST gate in Vegas for a boxing match.
I wonder if Canelo Jacobs would even do 10 million at the gate. Does the PPV even break 500k?
I'm sure Oscar and Co. are looking at these numbers and are dissapointed. They really do have the biggest cash cow in stateside boxing.

It doesn't matter now, he will be on DAZN and will have money behind him.

Sadly money talks more than ever in this sport

Like it or not GGG is a global star. He can fight in England, Getmany, Russia or any States in the U.S. and bringing big gates.
He is doing excellent considering speaking not much English and have no strong demographic backing like Canelo has.
Jacobs has a nice story about him but he's not that level yet or might never be.

His opponent was a complete unknown nobody so I am not all that surprised.

This should not be seen as an excuse by Canelo to avoid Jacob's and move up to 168 and take on the weakest paper champion...

He's not which is mad really because he was hyped as the next big thing before Pirog KOd him but even since then he's a well spoken American with a great backstory of overcoming cancer and fighting his way back to the top. A good promoter should have been able to make him a draw.

He's been promoted horribly. Early on he was featured on ESPN a few times and seemed to be building something. But post cancer, when it should have been easiest to promote him....nothing.

He should be a bigger draw.

    Not surprising, given the circumstances.

I wouldn't be surprised if the drop in viewers had to do with boxing fans who canceled HBO this month.

I'm about to drop it myself. I just haven't gotten around to it.

Jacobs drew a lot more viewers on HBO earlier this year against lesser comp. I think a lot of people who were regular viewers canceled.

Yep, which is why no one seriously claims he was a draw.

I dont think anyone claimed he was a draw. This fight, however, shows just how poor of a draw he is. He just fought an undefeated and highly ranked middleweight, the same guy that GGG avoided and let the IBF strip him of his belt. These numbers show us, outside the top draws, the ratings are utter crap

Jacobs-Sulecki broke 800k when The World Series wasn't on.

I mean, it's not a surprise is it..

He's living off the GGG loss, and GGG viewers come from Canelo haters. So really, his viewership is very low. You've got to have a breakthrough moment to have big viewership. Jacobs hasn't had one. HBO also knew they were going out of this business a year ago. They haven't promoted Jacobs enough because they weren't committed to the future.

And HBO going out of boxing will have automatically removed viewers who pay for this stuff.

Eddie Hearn is also only committed to DAZN, so he wouldn't have promoted this in the same way he might have done a year back. I'm not by any means saying Eddie is a hugely popular name in the US or anything, but he would have helped a little.

All that adds up to poor numbers.
