Argument falls flat on its face. His win over Cotto and Barrera were dominant.

If you want to bring the prime card into play that's not wise when it comes to Leonard. As Hearns peak was at 154. Hagler was past prime in 1987. And Leonard lost to a prime Duran and beat a fat Duran. You see I dont like tearing down a great fighter like Leonard but you can nitpick anybody's resume. Nothing I said in this paragraph was untrue though. But you forced to me to go there. I didnt like critiquing a fighter like Ray Leonard. But you forced my hand.

Pacquiao is greater than Leonard. Though there is an argument for Leonard to be made. Hes also the greatest fighter of the last 3 decades hands down.

Say what you want about bradley and vargas but they were top 10 welterweights when pac fought them. Stop hugging crawford's nuts. Crawford shot himself in the foot when he started making demands to pac to come down to 140 then has trouble beating one legged benavidez. Thurman can call out whoever he wants but it doesn't say crap when he's not even keeping himself active, spence since brook beat faded peterson and ****ing ocampo, garcia still hasn't rebounded since being exposed by thurman.
At the end of the day pac is fighting better, relevent and named opponents than the supposed top dogs of welterweight

Don't act like pac wasn't going up then. Pac had only like 3 catchweights and even then he was severely undersized. You talked about margarito, cotto and hoya being drained? Maybe they were but was it expected that pac was going to be dominant against them? ****ing no. If those three mentioned beat pac i wonder if they will be given credit for it plus those wins will be "tainted" since they beat a smaller man , right? Tainted wins or not pac beating guys way bigger than him is a huge part of his legacy. Stop hating.

You can't say any of those wins were against primed fighters/legit. He has a thin resume, and that's just a fact. Floyd is the vastly greater and better fighter and he made Pacquiao look like an amateur when they fought, won 10 rounds to 2. Deal with that.

TBE baby, given his style, the wars he’s been in and the robberies he’s had against him it’s a wonder he’s still around let alone wanting big fights lol.
How can you not like him?

Maybe hoya wasn't prime when pac beat him and also fought at 147 after a long but pac also jumped two freaking divisions to fight him. That's like rigo fighting loma only with a different outcome. No one gave pac a chance to beat hoya, NO ONE. But after he did he was blasted to superstardom. You mean cotto and margo aren't legit? Okay. Also i have read older threads here about how also no one is giving pac a chance against margo. Wonder where are they now?Don't even bother saying "but he was stopped/beaten in his last fight" all greats have beaten guys way out of their prime yet they still get commended for it.

Lastly despite me defending pac here i will say that i also had floyd beating him and that's coming from a huge pac fan. Maybe floyd is skilled, maybe floyd has a better resume but manny as boxing figure is something floyd can never hope to reach unless he gets himself in a big public scandal. Pac is a global icon floyd is not.

The argument you can't refute, it's a fact that it's a hollow resume. He's top 3 of this era, nothing more.

Um, you realize Pacquiao was the favorite going into the DLH bout, lol, he was 100% the favorite when the bout started. It's a complete falsehood when people say he was never given a chance. DLH started as the favorite but it was bet down significantly.

    Floyd is a global superstar.

I guess i exagerrated when i said no one but no. Pac was not in any way the favorite in that fight. Hoya being the favorite toned down but he was still favored by the majority.

Floyd is a boxing superstar probably known in well known boxing nations. Pac is a global icon even in non boxing nations. You can make a thread about who has the better popularity and i will be GENUINELY,SHOCKINGLY and my soul-will-leave-my-body surprised if anyone pick floyd.

He's following the Duran/Chavez playbook fighting into his forties. I just wish he hadn't wasted so much time fighting Rios, Alghieri, and two of the Bradley fights. He would have beaten Thurman, Porter, Brook, and maybe Spence back then. That's when you fight the young lions and pass the torch. Now, he's so far declined, I'm not sure he can even beat Broner. Plus, he's lost enough star power that he's starting to get robbed, so he might not be able to win even when he wins.

I think people forget pac hold a title at flyweight and super bantamweight.
If anybody can name a fighter who was a champion at flyweight and manage to get a title at welterweight, I think Pac greatness is assured.
Or make it easier, I can't recall fighter who hold super bantam title and win a welterweight title.
Pacman is the greatest of his era.

I don’t really know if any legit boxing historian who would make the claim that Floyd is greater than Pac. His biggest argument is an undefeated record. He does have A Pac and Canelo win on his record.

Pac is a record 8 division champ across 10 weight classes, a guy who should be fighting at LW destroying WWs and going h2h with one who is considered tbe.
