The build-up to the fight will almost be as interesting as the fight itself. I can see lunatic Fury getting under Listons skin during the prefight press meetings but can he do the same in the fight?
Liston couldn`t cut the ring off well and was a lot shorter than Fury, I pick Fury on points, but maybe ask me again after the Wilder fight, because we fight see if Fury can take a real power shot.
I think Liston easily by ko considering he was one of the hardest hitter ever and a total heavyweight featerfist Cunningham could knock down Fury.
Wlad was old and he looked awful against Fury. Otherwise the Klitschko fight didn't change the story of the Cunningham fight.
Cunningham was a great fighter who caught Fury as flush as can be. Louis was knocked down by multiple light punchers but would be given a pass vs Liston, and probably tipped to beat him. Until Fury gets KOed don't pass judgement on his chin.
Like VVMM said, if that was the case Wlad would've KOed Fury. Fury's chin isn't bad, he was so off balance when Cunningham knocked him down, I probably could have dropped him too. Yet he looked decent when even older against Joshua. Fury is a spoiler, if he's doing it right his opponent will look ****, so you can't really rate his opposition based off how they looked against him.
This. Also, Liston never struggled with tall heavy guys like Fury, since they were easy pickings for his jab. A prime Liston is light years better than Wlad was in 2015. People seem to think that Fury is as fleet footed and tricky as a prime Ali because he beat an old and shot Wald.
Fury is a hard one to rate. At his best we only have him against Chisora, Hammer and an ancient Wlad. In fairness he won all easy, the first two were absurdly one sided, but it's not exactly ATG opponents. On the other hand Liston's fights with Ali, suggest Fury has a style that should do well against him, and I don't think Liston's resume is that special, though you can't really complain about winning the title with a first round KO, and then repeating it. I would like to say we can wait and find out more about Fury as his career progresses, but I think he'll likely not have many more fights, and I also think he's nowhere near what he was. Maybe he can prove his heart and chin against Wilder. Maybe.
I know another case when Fury was down(bum Pajkic). It was 100% chin problem and this legendary Pajkic ko percentage is 27,7...%. Otherwise Cunningham never was a great heavyweight fighter. For example Michael Spinks did bigger things than Cunningham in the heavyweight division but lots of boxing fan(?) say he was just a light-heavyweight and Mike Tysons win against him wasn't remarkable at all. Unfortunately -in this forum- the double standard reigns (big shame) and we wil see lots of Fury fan excuse.

Why take fights when Fury wasn't at his best, when he fought similar sized opponents at his best? This content is protected https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bORbmyYwnw
If you're going to use the billed heights of listons opponents then use fury's billed height of 6'9 too. I've got fury by decision. Liston would be the one in a new and uncomfortable situation, dealing with something he's never seen before The size difference also happens to be truly immense, making fury if not an equal then atleast a very respectable puncher to a 215lb Liston.
