Both heavily padded records Both great highlight reel combos Look like world beaters on the pads One untested and the other found wanting at the top level, am I the only one who sees similarities between the two?
Eubank has fought better men so far. I would be surprised if Yarde has a chin like Junior. People say Yarde don't want to spar top guys either. Something not right if that's true.
Yarde is far more wooden than Eubank Jr is though, and just worse. I can foresee some kind of brutal KO loss in Yardes close future, whereas Eubank Jr atleast has a good enough defence to not be there to hit so easily. Although he was dropped atleast once by Groves, he wasnt at all hurt badly and he was already riding the shot. Eubank Jr for me will definitely have a better career than Yarde. Yarde is even bricking it over facing a Buglioni or a Hosea Burton. That is a level that Eubank Jr at his weight class has already beaten up easily. Eubanks wins over Yildrim, Quinlan, Blackwell, Chudinov and O'Sullivan are all better than any level Yarde has ever beaten.
Disappointing to see Yarde being held back/protected at this stage of his career. I know he didn’t have much of an amateur background but he needs to be tested against someone that can punch back. Eubank has definitely been up against greater opposition and it’s highly unlikely that Yarde possesses a mandible equivalent to Jr. The more I think about the similarities, the more I feel it’s mainly down to how they’ve been promoted
Eubank fought domestic level guys on his way up, the type of guys that Yarde has gone no where near. No comparison to be made.
CEJ would be undefeated if he'd fought Yarde's opposition up until now and obviously they campaign 2 divisions apart.
It was a mild oversite because I still feel Saunders and Groves could move up and beat Yarde who will never reach either guys level in his respective weight class, and even if he could overpower Groves at LH Groves did better vs the huge super middle Smith than Yarde would at LH, because Smith is actually a LH he`s a huge super middle.
Frank Warren is latching onto any well built men of African descent in the hope he unearths the next Anthony Joshua in the making.
