I’m sure Taylor and Burnett must be a bit disappointed, the YouTube streams are getting like 30k views, I’m sure they’d rather have it on uk tv so they can get exposure too the uk public. It’s a bit baffling why the WBSS don’t just sell the rights on a fight by fight basis.
i have youtube on my telly so happy enough, easy to cast from a device to the tv too. you really have to wonder where some of the backing is coming from with no major tv deal
You tube coverage is great. No adverts. Two commentators, with one of them doubling as ring announcer. Refreshing, compared to Sky's boxing coverage with their adverts and overstaffed ringside wafflers.
I have no problem with it being on YouTube as long as they have the repeat up straight away to watch if you're unable to watch it live. Which they have done with all but one of their shows this series. I missed Tete v Aloyan/Tabiti v Fayfer at the time and it took a few days for it to reappear. I managed to find it elsewhere on YouTube the next day but it the picture quality was a bit fuzzy.
Probably just extra promotion. WBSS know IFL has a big reach thus meaning more people will watch and IFL are happy to oblige knowing that their channel will get more hits. Just slightly off topic but I wonder if the Sauerlands are looking at DAZN and thinking about putting this tournament solely on streams? We know there’s been YouTube PPVs before so they’ve got that angle covered.
Would be a big look for IFL if they manage to pull more views for their stream than the official WBSS one. I’ll be watching the IFL one to support big Kugan.
