    What should Barrera's plan be?

    That is, his plan B?

...as I don't think remaining at light heavyweight is wise. He might have a slim puncher's chance (as does anybody with halfway decent heft in their strikes) against the Ripper, the Beast, and Superman - but most likely he would lose to all three. He would absolutely lose to Storm and the Nail, and probably even still the Krusher. There is zero need for us to see a Bivol vs. Barrera II, ever. He would lose every round of a rematch; pointless. His absolute best-case-scenario is a ceiling of cleaning out the division of the hangers-on like Monaghan, and maybe Koelling and Boesel, and definitely frauds like Mike Lee if he could land him in the ring - but he might top out at the likes of Marcus Browne (who also falls short against the division's top shelf guys IMO).

So, maybe a return to cruiser, where he actually debuted and fought the first two years/seven matches of his career (and subsequently competing above the 175lb limit thrice since his initial move up)? He is 6'2", after all, and I think his power would carry up and he would enjoy a more pronounced speed advantage up there. And while he is just as much up ****'s creek without a paddle against the cruiser elites, there are fewer of them as that division is a bit more front-loaded. Of course he doesn't beat Usyk or Briedis (although either or both of them may head to heavyweight after the former takes care of Bellew) and maybe not Gassiev - but name another cruiser and tell me that a Barrera match-up wouldn't be at least somewhat compelling.

He did say he idolized Prince Naz, right? Somebody ought to explain to Sadam that you don't start out your Elvis impersonator career by jumping straight to fat glitter King.

I think Barrera would have a chance at beating Fonfara, Mchunu, Oosthuizen, Lerena and Sillakh, maybe Diablo at this point. He has a slight chance at beating Fayfer, Merhy and Gevor. So he could give up his role as solid gatekeeper at LHW and weed that lot out.

But he needs to stay as far away from.....

Gassiev, Bellew, Dorticos, Vlasov, Glowacki, Lebedev, Tabiti, Goulamirian, Masternak, Makabu, Durodola, Papin and Perez as possible. They flatten him.
