Whyte v Chisora sold in 1 day twice as many tickets that Wilder v Fury has sold in 6 weeks

Bottom line is fans know Whyte vs. Chisora II will be a barn burner. Wilder vs. Fury its more likely it will be a boring 12 round snoozefest as Fury will stink out the joint (if his stamina lasts 12 rounds).

 

Fury rematch with Wlad didn't sell out. Fury is NOT a draw.

 

They need in increase the portion sizes to get Americans to attend. They love their food more than sport

 

Indeed. A lot of people are also put off attending Fury fights due to the amount of travellers who attend his fights. Now whether or not you think that's right or not is another matter entirely but with a history of trouble at his events amongst the travelling community in attendance you can't say people fears are totally unfounded.

 

Thats because Whyte v Chisora is a proper boxing fight. The eyes dont lie, and even brain dead casual fans can see this.

Fury and Wilder ain't anywhere near as entertaining, I was logged in on the general sale and they went FAST!!.

I can't speak about the undercards though, but main event is more than enough for me. This is what live arena experiences should be all about.

 

This. Those ticket prices were outrageous. $1,000 for 1 ticket in a bad section. Charging Tyson-Holyfield prices for Wilder-Fury in Los Angeles where neither fighter is well known was never going to work.

 

Blame Wilder for being stubborn and insisting on fighting in the U.S. I think they would have done big numbers over in the UK as far as ticket sales.

 

And yet we keep hearing about how the likes of Finkel and Warren are geniuses from Wilder fanboys and Joshua/Hearn haters.

This fight much like the careers of two fighters involved is descending into farce. Hopefully it does well enough financially that it doesn't destroy the bargaining position of the winner in negotiations with Joshua regarding unification.

 

Fury would never had agreed to fight Wilder in N.Y at Barclays ( A Dibella based venue..hint / hint ) where team wilder would insist.

No one of common sense would want to fight Wilder there after the Ortiz scorecards were revealed...lol

 

No surprises here. A rematch of the 2016 heavyweight FOTY vs Fury, an elusive fighter who likes to stay and jab from the outside, and Wilder, a guy who is dependant on a counter right hand catching guys as they come in. Anyone with half a brain knows this fight will be terrible viewing. Fury won't engage but will stay on the outside, moving and jabbing, and Wilder is shockingly poor in his skill set coming forward, thus will sit back and wait all night hoping for an opening. Not to mention a terrible undercard. Hopefully, a Wilder highlight reel KO can save the night, but still picking Fury by UD. Won't be surprised if Whyte vs Chisora 2 is sold out in the next 48 hours. Still think Whyte gets the UD, but Chisora knows this is his last shot at the big time and will probably train harder than he ever has in his life and make a hell of a fight out of it.

 

True imo they cancelled the Wlad rematch in the U.K. as nobody gave a ****.

This is an unfair judgement from people living on an overcrowded island with nothing much to do.
Yeah those tickets sold fast, what else are you guys gonna do? Soccer, excuse me, futbol or football season is over, what are you gonna do play cricket?!
Not everyone likes boxing over here anymore, especially when it's after a major holiday(Celebrating the murder of natives by eating steroid turkey) before another major holiday(Meghan Kelly screaming about a imaginary character not being black, but certainly white).
The 2 don't compare.

 

Fury will struggle to do decent numbers in Britain because of the Klitschko fight. Did decent numbers at the time but it was such a horrible fight that many will simply think it's not worth watching him anymore.

Obviously a Joshua v Fury fight does well but Fury on his own is a hard sell. He can talk a good game but enough people have watched him now to know that's all he has; talk.
