Cries of robbery is the worst one for me. A fight that you might have scored a point or two to fighter A could easily be a draw or a point or two to fighter B. It sucks that Boxing scoring can be quite subjective, but that's the way the sport is unfortunately and there hasn't been a method of removing that subjectivity thus far. Besides, rounds can be extremely close, I mean in a close fight rounds are going to be razor close anyway by and large so one should really just take a deep breath and realise it is part of the game for fights to sometimes go to the guy you didn't score the fight to when it is dead close.

Haha. This has made my day.

I'd also like to add using the term GOAT. It's a wider problem within sports but one that's seems like it's constantly being thrown around at the moment.

Lol I do actually believe in God but to think he’d give a toss about Floyd defence or Serenas backhand is laughable.

Again it'd be funny to hear a commentator say "Well he's a lazy twat who neither cares for takes boxing seriously and tonight he's probably going to get what he deserves."

"They just aren't as good as they used to be". Happens every generation. Boxing takes longer to recognize active fighters in a historical context than other sports, and they are in general much more predisposed to rose colored glasses.

Well other sports have less subjective metrics to judge the current crop upon.

In football for example I have no doubt that the players of today are more effective but the Messi and Ronaldo and the like aren't as entertaining to watch as Zidane, Henry and Ronaldinho who provided more flair IMO.

Fair enough. But, regardless of the fact that it is perhaps more explainable because of the absence of objective measurements, it doesn't make it any less bad or problematic. Also, even in football (uhm, American football) and basketball, where you don't have a ton of non subjective metrics, you see more people giving LeBron James and Tom Brady credit as either greatest of all time at their positions or close to it than anyone gives credit to modern boxers.

“It only takes one punch to change things”

    Yep, that’s self explanatory.

“It depends what the judges are looking for”

This is boxing, there should only be one way to score a fight.

when someone scores a KO...."you don't get paid extra for overtime"...well, there is no overtime in boxing.
