They do not have the legal right to access this information at present. If that was the case we would be getting nicked for all types of different stuff.

Interesting note from an article in The Times today- there hasn’t been a World Title fight held in the UK on regular Sky Sports this year (lots in the US admittedly).

The BT situation smacks of desperation to make money back on a rights fee- they should be trying to build an audience on the regular channel and then televise the biggest fights on PPV. Sky took nearly a decade to televise it’s first PPV after it’s inception.

To watch via the BT Sport app you need to be a BT sports customer through either BT, Sky, Virgin or EE or have your internet with BT.

    Taken from the website

Can I use the BT Sport App without having BT Broadband or Sky TV?
No, you must be a BT Sport Pack subscriber or a BT Broadband customer to get the BT Sport App or watch online at btsport.com.

I did read somewhere that BT sport was going to be available on Now TV, not sure if that was for existing 'sports pack' subscribers or for the PAYG service.

BT support multiple device log on so you can have two devices watching at the same time using the same ID.

World boxing super series last night was a good card and free + only on YouTube. The two pages showing it have combined views of 250k.

There simply isn't a huge demand for streaming right now. Especially ppv.

There were more than just 2 places to watch though. There was the WBSS website, their YouTube channel, their Facebook page, IFLTV, and Sports Bible or whatever it's called. So the total views it got must've been more than 250k if that's only 2 of them you're counting.

The wbss website is just a link to the YouTube page isn't it? Didn't look last night but believe it was on past so I just subbed directly to the YouTube.

As got Facebook wasn't aware. You can check numbers on that yourself as I deleted it years ago!

Either way its not going to rival what Taylor could get fighting on channel 5

Aye you're probably right about the website link to their YouTube page. I've just been going straight into their YouTube page to watch the fights.

I saw Sauerland's interview with IFL today and he said the numbers were "sensational". But I suppose he would say that even if they weren't.

Any suspected breaking of the law can result in Internet Service Providers being formally made to hand over people's internet logs to police etc.

The only saving grace for people at the moment is that the police and other enforcement agencies lack resources due to austerity cuts.

People should never think their internet history is safe - the ISPs store all the website logs for every customer for a number of years.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the over the top promotion BT are doing for this fight. Silly little tweets and videos are uploaded on a regular daily basis. Just seems like they're overdoing it. Let it marinate itself naturally then ramp it up 2 weeks before fight night.

I think the promotion is working. Everybody knows the fight is happening and when it's taking place.

BT will really crank it up by mentioning the fight on their CL games coverage and PL football coverage.

BT have got to go hard. It's their first huge non hardcore fight on ppv. It's a British challenger in a heavyweight world title fight.

It's the man who BT sport's boxing name lives and dies on too. He's their one star.
