Khabib makes no sense in any ring. Boxing, he will get embarrassed. Conor has great standup and really didn’t do all that much to Floyd. MMA, Floyd can’t withstand the takedown for more than a few minutes and would get tapped as soon as he goes down. He’s north of 40 and a novice in the octagon.

I actually don’t understand the Khabib thing from anyone’s POV. He was a popular enough fighter before beating Conor, but nobody would say he was one of the biggest moneymakers. He taps McGregor and now is trying to imitate his career with a cash grab in boxing?

Pretty pathetic. Expected by Floyd though, he’s shameless.

Doesn’t say it will be kickboxing or MMA rules so pretty sure it’ll be boxing rules or modified to his advantage.

Fair play to Floyd if it’s actually MMA or kickboxing. Will be rooting for him but unless he’s been training kicks and sparring with world class kickboxers the last couple of years, he’s gonna get wrecked.

Vegas is littered with guys who once played high stakes and now play for peanuts, given how much Floyd earned id say Gambling is the only way one could spend it all.

"Special punch rules" likely allowing back fists and some elbows or something

I am guessing it will be special rules. It won't be an MMA rules fight. Remember that rizin was setup from the ex pride management. This is what pride always wanted to do. Have fighters/pro wrestlers from all disciplines compete against each other.

I am wondering who is paying for this. Pride had Yakuza money and Japanese TV was paying huge amounts to broadcast. Rizin must have a great TV deal for NYE.

I can’t see him being broke, as some are suggesting, as he only needs to make the PAC rematch and he’d turn a fortune, whilst keeping some integrity. Yes, he’d probably lose his 0, but then would a broke man care at this point. I’d say these circus shows are more damaging to his reputation. Plus he’d do a deal with Hearn. My point being that there are more respectable ways for Mayweather to earn good money, without flushing his reputation away, so this is just him being greedy.

Couldn't he just hand pick a semi recognisable name in Boxing and make the same dough under Boxing rules though, or more ??

Floyd has put far too much effort in to keeping his 0 with a business like attitude to let his guard down at this stage imo… The "0" has to stay no matter what in his head

Don't understand why people on twitter are screaming that it should be MMA rules. Nasukawa is not an MMA guy and neither is Floyd. Do people want to see a very bad MMA fight?

Can see possibly no kicks to the face being allowed. Still though even if low kicks are permissible, Floyd's legs are gonna be battered and bruised.

We have see boxers vs kick boxers before. A old ray mercer had couple of fights in K-1
