$7-10m!?! so cheaper tickets, and a few thousand less people but between $4-7m bigger gate? i don't see how that's possible.

Clearly not as 300k for a Canelo fight is extremely low

Bellew drew 250k PPV buys vs Cleverley. That alone means something. The Haye buyrate numbers wasn't all on Haye, Bellew still paid his part.

The fact that both fights drew big numbers even after the 1st had Haye injured to me says Bellew played a pivotal part in getting that buyrate up to the numbers it did.

It cant be underestimated just how much that Belew win @ Goodison Park put him over. The way he won that fight, the whole occasion made a big impact.

I dont know what the ticket prices were. I am guessing here. Unfortunately trying to find the gate receipts for this fight is hard work.

most expensive was $750, cheapest $50. And Bellew/Haye was more expensive than AJ/Klitschko. It just seems to me that it could be done based on that.

I'm making the trip up on Saturday and I can't wait. However to my group of mates who aren't into boxing but definitely fall under the Sky marketing umbrella I doubt they know when this is/would buy it.

    I'd say 350K max

True mate also with the new relatively unproven platform it could go either way. I think it’ll do 200k here in the UK and in the US in all honestly but again I could be miles out. If it was matchroom and sky showing it? Close to a million here alone probably.

I’m expecting shockingly low figures from this weekend- 250k max but we obviously wont be told. Bellew is nowhere near a Stand-alone PPV star and nobody apart from hard cores have any idea who Usyk is. Add to that an horrendous undercard.

I don't think it would do a million in fairness. Fury did around half a million for Klitschko and that was at 10pm. As much as there is intrigue in the fight the last middle of the night fight to do a million featuring a British fighter on PPV was Hatton Pacquiao and Fury isn't nearly as popular as Ricky was.

I get that Bellew can draw in the UK against the right opponent, I'm not sure Usyk is that guy.
To me this seems like a weak PPV without a strong co main event.

I’d tip it to do more than the 500k if the sky and Hearn machine went hard on promotion and Tyson was their fighter but then again who knows!

We will be told. The ratings for sky box events come out so we get an estimate at least.

Don't you think if this was possible without PPV they would do just that rather than relying on PPV Buys which may not happen.

I'm certain that if sky said "Eddie we will pay the rights fees to cover the purses" he would be ecstatic as PPV wouldn't be necessary.

No, because there is no risk that people won't buy the PPV. Look at the numbers they've been getting for their PPVs recently.

doubt he'd be ecstatic, it's less money in his pocket. It's not like it's DAZN where only suscription is available

Regardless of ppv numbers for this fight if Usyk delivers a spectacular performance he becomes better known to the casuals. Sets up a big contest with AJ down the line.
