Would he get the credit? There's no UFC event now, when people are not talking about that Jon Jones is the GOAT in MMA. If the swedish guy beaths him again why people wouldn't say he is the GOAT? Because he is not afro-american?

I think the OP forgot to take his medication.

Gus didn't beat him the first time. People need to learn the rules of the Octagon. The usual argument - oh, look at who is the most cut or beat up - that isn't a valid argument.

Jones landed the more strikes, did the most damage. Gus was hurt and wobbly, Jones wasn't.

And no. Gus is not even close to be the 'goat'. This is his third chance at the title. The first two times he fell short - and he tapped against Phil Davis and Rumble Johnson knocked him out.

If he beats Jones twice and defends the belt 8-10 times, he might be in the top-3. He still hasn't accomplished anything, and only fights once a year.

Jones got made to look average when he fought a guy his own size. And he got taken down, bust up on the feet...

Gus did the better work for 3.75 rounds. The elbow at the end of round 4 is the only reason why Jones kept his belt as he was on his way to getting sweeped on the cards. I've had it 48-47 Gus every time I've watched it. Think Jones will win clearly this time though.

He's better h2h than Davis and Johnson though. How he performed against Jones and DC is a testimony to that. Hed have beaten Davis in a rematch no question. Rumble might just be the worst style matchup possible for him but if Gus gets out of the early rounds it's his fight.

Jones will never, ever, ever be the GOAT. If you fail a ****ing USADA test twice along with being known for blatant eye pokes you are out of the conversation.

    GSP and Fedor <<<<<< Jones

It’s really like an episode of the Twilight Zone that that ***** isn’t SHUNNED by the UFC and the MMA community after all the disgusting **** he’s done. He’s a lowlife.

And GUS busts him up even better this time with his boxing.

Being a terrible person has nothing to do with being the best fighter.

He beat Gustafsson the first time and very likely will do it again.

Blatant eye pokes? I think he’s more known for KOing DC.

    Agreed.

This rematch has happened way too late for Gus, and he's not with the same camp he had for Jones the first time they met.

He didn't though. People only looks at the visual damage, but that shouldn't effect the scoring. Jones landed more in the first three rounds, and if you want to score by the rules of the octagon, Jones handily won the 2nd, 4th and 5th round.

Gus outboxed him. Landed the harder and more meaningful shots.

On his way to getting sweeped on the cards, LOL. Just to much negative bias towards Jones, makes people unavailable to make an educated judgement of his fights.

No he didn't? Jones wasn't hurt at any point - and it clealy didn't slow him down. Jones had the upper hand in the championship rounds. So no, Gus didn't land the more meaningful shots.

He outboxed him, for sure. But it wasn't a boxing match, it was a MMA fight.
