I actually think the most interesting thing will be how Wilder will take Fury’s power. While Fury is no Wladimir Klitschko in that department I think he has underrated pop.

They are the same height....there's nothing to discuss really.
Cunningham had no problem punching up against Fury.

Wlad didn't enjoy the trade when they did mix it and Fury had him in a bit of trouble a couple of times in their fight which I still maintain was a lot more interesting than people made out. It's a lot of Fury's other fights which were complete stinkers.

Wilder prob is used to punching down but it's obviously not going to be an insurmountable obstacle but may be a factor.

I think Fury has enough elbow grease to shut Wilder off for a stoppage. A lot of people aren’t even considering that. They just assume Tyson has to out box him for 12. Lol Nah

Wlads power was severly effected by the taller fury. One has to be oblivious not to see the same problem is going to occur in the wilder fight and the knockout wont be so easily or casually set up as the rest of his fights where guys averaged 6'2 with his best knockouts for Wilder.

I also think Wilder won't be ready for how dirty Fury will be willing to get. When he had to he was more than happy to hit and hold or use his forearm and elbow against Cunningham.

Anyone know if anyone has been willing to rough Deontay up like that? I've not see all of his fights with so many of them walkovers.

The difference in punching power due to height/gravity will be negligible at best. If it really mattered, then Mike Tyson and David Tua could never have been significant power punchers in their weight class. What it can influence is fatigue in the late rounds if the shorter fighter chooses to direct most of his punches upstairs vs downstairs.

The idea that gravity would be a significant factor in punching power is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen posited on this forum.

    Congrats. I am truly impressed.

to add to my previous thought, one could say punching up actually increases punching power if done correctly. when you punch down, the leverage comes from your punch pushing away from the weight of your body only. if you punch up creating a straighter line from the glove to the foot carrying your weight, then the leverage comes from the weight of the world and your muscles pushing away from it.

Tyson and Tua do not define punching averages of height of someone it doesn't change real world physics, it doesn't rewrite books and make going against momentum the way to increase velocity...lol

Tua could not knock out tall guys like Lewis, Ike .It doesn't mean much hes not the poster boy for punching up..M.Tyson is and neither define the norm.

Tyson best punch was the uppercut bc he got maximum leverage on them from underneath at 5'10. He is a top tier puncher through speed and technique as well not just strength. they were also heavy...heavyweights..they weren't small guys they were short guys theres a difference .

The point of this thread you guys are trying to ignore is Wilder punching up which at 6'7 is not the same as his knockout right hand going down on someones head ...it NOT!
