You generate less force punching upwards than downwards but it isn't because of gravity. You can get around this with technique. Wilder will always have enough power to knock someone out if he lands cleanly with full force. Power itself isn't that impressive.

Gravity is the trajectory its either up or down ...its not gravity itself its the motion...are you saying gravity does not exist when you make any motions ? Either punching jumping ,throwing a baseball over or under handed ? Are you telling me theres no difference throwing from above or below and gravity ceases to be non existant ?

Are you sure im the dumb one AGAIN ? because everytime I reply to you you run away bc you have no answer..so please answer its a yes or no question ..does Gravity not effect motion ? lol

The effect would be completely negligible. Goddamn are you stupid.

It’s sad really. I guess you’re not very educated.

It doesn't matter what technique you use you cannot generate more speed traveling upwards.the fact wilder actually doesn't knockout guys with good technique but simply going with gravity PUNCHING DOWN reinforces what paulie is saying..its not rocket science come'on.....lol

As I though you cant answer bc you know the answer is yes ...Gravity effects motion...go away you idiot as usual...lol

The reason for Windy-millers outrageous KO % and aparrently ungodly power is because he's been knocking over Cruiserweights, a 48 yr old, high blood pressured and heart conditioned never been, opponents who've been given 2-3 week, short notice training camps, fringe top 15 contenders.....if you're lucky and a whole catalogue of illegal punches and in fight interventions,

Wilders cherry picked yet another opponent in Fury who I doubt will be anywhere near his best due to a 2 1/2 year after party. When Wilder finally finds his pen and fights AJ, this BS, fraudulent and protected title reign will be over soon enough.

You misunderstood what I was saying.

I'm not saying you generate more force. I'm saying you can generate ENOUGH force making the difference negligible.

Wilder wings his shots. This isn't good technique because it is a lot of wasted movement and he is wide open but in the context of power it is fine for that. It isn't gravity. Leverage isn't gravity. Weight isn't gravity.

We also have to take into account Earth's rotation and the magnetic pull created by The Moon on fight night.

Whether he is punching up or down, Wilder still has the power to knock out Fury.

Exactly this. I am by no means an expert on physics but i do have some knowledge on it and this was my first thought. The exceleration, speed and weight behind a punches thrown justs several inches higher or lower is simply not enough of a difference that it would be noticeable. I also disagree with him on what Tyson said about punching he could generate more power. I would imagine for instance that someone like lebron games produces more force jumping straight up than he would jumping forward. Would you say?

Galvatron you are embarrassing yourself... I suggest you take this up with any Physics teacher from any school.

Going by your logic rockets would never leave earth or reach escape velocity.

Gravity is a finite force.. it has limits one of which is acceleration.. and you can punch faster than gravity can keep up so it has negligible effect. It only has effect when you are punching slower than gravities acceleration... ergo.. letting your hands drop by themselves.

I already explained to you in the other forum about forces and vectors ... your muscles generate forces by themselves that counteract gravity.. this is how NBA players can dunk a basketball.

You generate more power going upward than downwards because of the mechanical construction of a human being and the greater amount of force generated through the lower body plus the fact that you are standing on.top of solid surface which fights back as your legs push down.

Lol I highly doubt anybody familiar with boxing ever said punching upwards increases power or force, especially someone as experienced as Tyson. Hats off bro, it in fact doesnt increase power, but a ton more leverage is generated from those shots and its much easier for a shorter and stockier fighter to pop one right on the button of a fighter that is noticeably taller if they worked their way in and caught that fighter if their chin wasnt completely tucked. If a fighter is so much taller than their opponent that they are punching downwards at them and that opponent is technically solid and defensively responsible and keep their chin tucked there is much less of a chance of chinning that dude. Youre an idiot.

This thread is amazing. Never realized that punching angle had to do with gravity rather than leverage. Interesting theory.
