Why isn't anyone talking about Stevenson vs Gvozdyk?

There will be some seriously hurt feelings if Stevenson retains the title.

No it won't. Actually, it will even feed on the Wilder vs. Fury fight a little bit.

 

It amazes me how even at 41 that Adonis Stevenson can still hang in there with the top fighters at 175. Like Badou Jack couldn't even put him away and he was the much younger guy in there. If Stevenson can beat Gvozdyk, I'll be impressed. Because my thinking is, the dude is freaking 41 and shouldve been retired already and not a factor at 174.

 

Judging from Stevenson's social media accounts, his main priorities are:
1) his (very) pregnant girlfriend;
2) launching his girlfriend's new business (AS Fur);
3) training for the fight.
So, I think Gvozdyk might have a good change after all.

In general, I have a high regard for Teddy Atlas as a trainer (especially his ability to influence a guy like Gvozdyk), but there's not enough time to really change Alex in this very short period of time. I wish Gvozdyk had another fight with Teddy in his corner before facing Stevenson...

 

Sorry if this has been discussed, over discussed and rediscussed way too many times to count but, I honestly don’t know the scoop on Stevenson’s character…I liked Stevenson a lot as a fighter until it was way too clear he had no intention of defending his title against the best in the division, he’s been an afterthought for me for a long time now…

What is the scoop? Why does everyone agree he’s a pos of a person?

 

Are you talking about his criminal record as a gang member, allegedly a ****** and woman beater/torturer? The rumors like that circulate...
But, from what I see with my own eyes, I don't believe it. To me Stevenson seems like a nice genuine guy. The kind you would trust.

 

Thank you for the info…From the comments I’ve read, I thought I must be missing some well established facts about his character or lack thereof. I’ve taken him as decent or genuine enough too but obviously know public personas are often deceiving…Anyways, appreciate the response.

 

For the record, I'm rooting for Gvozdyk to win this.

 

I really hope Gvozdyk puts the final nail in the pimp's coffin, and expect him to do just that. But there's always the possibility of the Atlas curse getting in the way, which can still turn this in a disaster.
