I’m up for this as a future fight definitely - though we may have to have a sub thread called ‘Controversial Fight of the Week’!

Yeah, those are my thoughts too. Duran-Barkley would be a perfect fight for our series but I'd rather we cover more fights involving other fighters before going back to Duran. Unless others disagree...

Nothing wrong with even rounds! As long as you have a sensible framework and you apply it consistently, it's better than giving out coin flip rounds arbitrarily (which is also probably how biases often creep in).

Fair enough - let's save Duran-Barkley for later.

I do think it's possible to give a very tight round one way or another without bias. It's usually if there's barely any action at all that I give an even round because no-one deserves to take it. But each to their own. I guess we all have our frameworks for scoring, conscious or not - it's just that no two or necessarily the same!

How bout Castillo vs. Corralles 1 and how in one of the greatest fights ever fought, the referee absolutely stole Jose' ko victory by letting Coralles cheat and have extra recovery time?

I love the Corrales vs Castillo fights and would be open to them if/when they get selected. If we are looking at fights where they didn’t go the distance this is a good recent (semi) fight to revisit. Especially if we want to review the refs role and control as well.

Duran - Barkley will indeed be great when we get to it. It's a damn close fight and there given it's Barkley no real bickering tho an odd card might be slanted. It would be very interesting and it's a great fight to watch.

    Very good pick.
As per another post I had Dorin a clear winner over Spady at the time.

I am not sure what future fight-of-the-week means. . . So I will pick a couple and see if I am on track. . . .February 23, 2027 it is Hector Manuel Gonzalez vs Kitlat Isagani. . . .on Nov 19, 2030 it will be Abir Mohammad vs Jurgen Johannssen. . . .on June 10, 2033 I predict it will be Bodashka Vasilichuk vs Conan Thomsen.

Right now we are reviewing fight of the week 3. Koolkevin started this idea. We reviewed Duran vs Leonard I, then week 2 Zarate vs Pintor. Now we are on the 3rd installment Danny Lopez vs Bobby Chacon and Mike Ayala. Check it out.

These nominations are for fights you would like to be considered for us to review as a group, giving insights, score cards, analysis or interesting tidbits about the fight to share.
