What weight would Usyk need to come in at? Considering there is a 60lbs difference between the two fighters
I think usyk would struggle with some of those big boys at heavyweight He looked turd for the first three rounds against Bellew. AJ would beat him
I see Joshua's body guard hasn't lost his job. Can't fight Joshua unless you fight Whyte first. Although I see he's still running scared of Luis Ortiz.
When Usky fought Joyce he weighed in at 96.1kg which is 211.6lbs. Whyte usually shows up between anything from 246-258lbs depending on how hard he's trained. So he'll have a 34-46lbs weight advantage. Would be a tough fight for Usyk, especially if it's a first fight at heavyweight for him. But I think Usyk can out box Whyte. Whyte doesn't have great foot work, he could be made to constantly reset and have his jab taken away from him because of Usyk's southpaw stance. Whyte would need to go to war and make it a very physical fight and bully the smaller man if he can. But that's easier said than done, when Usyk decides to get on his bike he's hard to pin down. Joyce tried in the WBS and was just getting picked off all the time. I think Usyk takes a decision. He has some rough moments but overall he moves too well and Whyte tires in the last 3rd and Usyk pulls away on the scorecards for a UD.
Dangerous for sure to take on a prime HW in his 20's. This is why I'd like to see Usyk against Pulev, aging heavyweight who's not a huge puncher. And Pulev and Usyk are almost the same size, perfect fight for him.
Big risk but a loss to Joshua and Usyk isn’t actually bad for for his career. Whyte say what you like about him is a step up from Bellew as he’s a proper heavyweight and he ain’t to shabby a boxer, nowhere near Usyk level but his jab is decent enough albeit he’s a bit one dimensional which Usyk would like.
Honestly, it is not a huge jump from CW to HW. It is literally 1lb. In saying that he would only need to campaign at 210-215 to be successful. He probably walks around at 215-220. Usyk would put on a clinic against Whyte who is far too easy to hit clean.
I'd probably make Usyk the favorite against every active HW except Fury, AJ and Wilder. Unless Whyte loses the Chisora fight, it would be silly of him (but admirable) to jeopardize the AJ fight by fighting someone he'd be a steep underdog. If he loses to del boy, though, this might be a good fight for him. A. It would immediately put him back at the front of the line in the (unlikely) event he won and B. It would be a lucrative fight in the UK and a great intro for Usyk. Whyte wouldn't have an obvious opponent coming off a del boy loss, so why not get a lucrative fight with high upside and if you lose, fight a few Price level HWs to build yourself up again.
Where is the "silence after Usyk calls his bluff followed by a proclamation by Hearn that Chisora/Price/Hughie Fury is what the fans want" option?
