3 undeniable reasons why Usyk won't be competitive against modern SHWs

    And before you guys will throw something at me, please read carefully my reasoning.

    Weight divisions were made for a reason. Let's imagine how Usyk will compete against current SHWs (not AJ, Wilder or Fury but even lesser names). I don't believe he'll do well TBH.

    Let's take Joe Joyce, 6'6'' 250+ lbs SHW, who just destroyed everyone in front of him. Joyce is also uncrowned Olympic Gold medalist.

    What would have happened if they ever met in the ring? Imagine 6'3'' 215 lbs Usyk against modern talented SHW Joe Joyce? I bet Joyce will box his ears off and probably stops his smaller opponent, winning every round.

    OK, you will say, that's Joe Joyce, he's very talented and elite SHW. What about ordinary SHWs? I believe they would also beat Usyk, too much size advantage. We will take two less talented SHWs for example.

    Matteo Modugno and Junior Fa.

    Modugno (while slow and pretty ordinary fighter) is 6'6.5'' 260+ lbs giant, undefeated as a pro. I think if Usyk steps up against that giant he will see the difference between elite CWs and just decent SHWs. Modugno by decision using his enormous size.

    Junior Fa, 6'5'' HW whose weight range is somewhere between 250-270 lbs. Imagine 215 lbs HW Oleksandr Usyk against taller and MUCH heavier opponent. I think Fa will bully more skilled, but smaller Usyk all night long and decisions him pretty easily.

    Conclusion: Every good modern SHW will punish Usyk, and every elite SHW will just walk through him. Even if he ever met guys like Fa or Modugno, he'd have seen the difference between 200lbs guys and 250-260 lbs giants. And Joyce? Are you kidding? That would be too one-sided IMO. Nevermind Wilder, AJ and Fury.

    They met as amateurs in 2016 and Joyce got his ears boxed off, he`s nowhere near elite or near Bellew and Usyk`s level.

    I don't know, we will wait and see. Some cruiserweights have had success up at HW.

    HW is a wasteland so it wouldn't take all that much for him to be viewed as successful there.

    Wilder and Joshua are pretty simple. I think Usyk has a chance against them.

    Usyk is a 1/2 inch taller than Evander.

    Evander campaigned at cruiserwt when the limit was 190. Usyk weighs in at 200.


    Usyk: 78 inches, Evander: 78 inches


    And Evander was competitive with superheavy Bid Daddy Bowe and with the greatest superheavy of all time, Lennox Lewis.


    I'm not saying that Usyk is all that Evander was, but your objections re: height, weight and reach were all overcome by Holy, and he fought in the era of Lewis and Bowe.

    So it can be done !

    In fact the examples were carefully chosen as they are all people Usyk outclassed in the WSB.

    Usyk is a hype job feasting on bums and he cant sell.

    People only like him because hes a Trump supporter, and helped the Russians rig the elections despite being Ukrainian.

    Beating big guys is not the same as beating the TOP big guys. If you want to make a case as to why Usyk can overcome size in certain matches... awesome. Obviously he can. But thats all it says. When most people say AJ and Wilder are too big, they obviously are saying that they are too big to go along with their level of operation and/or other attributes.


    Its not as simple as 'Usyk has beat some big guys before... therefore size will not trouble him against AJ'.

    Why you, big ukrainian, are comparing him to Joyce? To look more ridiculous that bigger is better? Kuzmin also is not very tall, but he KO Joyce in amateurs.I really think he will have problems with taller guys, just not sure about the comparison with Joyce.Hrgovic, Makhmudov(strong, heavy and fast, champion of semipro series), Joshua, these are more dangerous in my opinion.
