Usyk way too humble to fight anyone who can’t defend themselves as appose to that circus act with Floyd. Anyone catch Usyk in the presser?all we ever got from Floyd was talk about him and his money, when asked if Usyk dreams of becoming heavyweight champ he replied I’d like that but I don’t dream of this.I dream that we can all just get along. How can anyone dislike someone who looks like a mad man but speaks so well.
Bingo As for the other ducks, these topics have been debated and debunked years ago People may not like to hear it but Floyd typically beat guys coming off a big win and not shot like people throw around Hatton off his KO of Castillo Canelo off unifying with Trout Guerrero after beating Berto and undefeated highly ranked Aydin (I consider Guerrero a lesser scalp) Mosley after destroying Margarito who beat Cotto and Cintron and was basically the man after Floyd retired Maidana after Broner and again after having a close fight Baldomir after beating Judah and when they said Judah losing to Baldomir was a fluke he beat Judah too Ortiz after his biggest win vs Berto Rematched Castillo after a tough first fight Anybody who says the De La Hoya fight could have gone either way is out of their mind, only one guy won that fight. The Vegas judges just gave Oscar a feel good card Hell he even came out of "retirement" to dominate Marquez who was on a solid run of wins and would go on to in many observers views beat Pacquiao and then knock out Pacquiao and Floyd won every second of the fight vs Marquez He did beat Cotto after Manny and the bad beating vs Margarito but Cotto did go on to become middleweight champ so the win is still pretty good People really just love complaining about Floyd Mayweather to the point they make up ****
On account of his longer career perhaps but skill wise there’s nothing in it,all depends if you like defensive, cute boxing to the attacking style and all round abilities of Usyk.
Nah Floyd is one of my all time fav boxers, his win over Canelo was incredible as it was entertaining, problem folk have with Floyd is that he was so good he could win without doing much in terms of attacking entertaining boxing. Floyd himself was well aware of this which is why he pointed out after beating Cotto that he came out to prove a point. That said I’d watch Floyds worst fights over Wards any day.
On a resume basis Ward is clearly above Floyd when it comes to top wins. H2H is what you make it. But Kovalev/Froch/Kessler is a better collections of wins than Castillo/Corrales/Hatton. When you actually look at most of Floyd's top opponents they were over the hill. As in were not sandwiched between their best days.
Usyk. Mayweather always had to have home advantage. He's had dishonest judges (Castillo I) and dodgy refs (Hatton) to help him out when needed. In contrast, Usyk is a road warrior, never afraid to fight the best opponents in their home countries. He doesn't need help from unscrupulous judges and refs. Mayweather avoided prime top opponents at welterweight, super lightweight and lightweight (Margarito, Tszyu, Casamayor, Paul Williams, etc). Usyk fears no man.
Serious trolling to say just 'good'. Absolutely laughable. Absolutely everything about Usyks entire boxing career was special from the amateurs to the wsb to pro cruiser to pro hw., and the way he did the hard way with so many obstacles. He's the definition of special in boxing. Special fighters win Olympic Gold medals not Bronzes
Not really. Usyk is the #1 fan favorite around here (in the General Forum), and has been for quite awhile. Conversely, Floyd has long been one of the most hated boxers on this forum.
