Love Pryor, one of my top 10-15 fighters the last 30-40 yrs. But prime Duran had better tools, and was even more physical than the " Hawk". Also, Durans power carried all the way up to Middle weight. Pryors body frame doesn't suggest he could've been successful at welter, much less Middle. Duran would take Pryor apart. Pryor would probably win the early rds because of his work rate, but eventually, Duran, like he did with Leonard would eventually trap Pryor on the ropes, and maul him. By the 10th - 11th rd the fight would be all Duran, and stops a game but over matched Pryor between the 10-15th rd.

Styles make fights, whats Pryor going to do? a smaller man than Roberto , is going to attack Duran with his usual workrate. Duran will slip and counter with power Aaron never felt before. Duran KO's Pryor in a short slugfest 5th.

A case where styles would favor the lesser fighter.

Duran was aggressive, so was Pryor who hit harder. Roberto would need the right game plan here.

I'll take Pryor in an upset.

Good question I never saw Pryor as a KO puncher though he stopped a lot of fighters but it was through volume and pace not power....watching his fights where he is bouncing his best shots off fighters chins without much reaction is enlightening but Duran on the other hand was a brutal puncher with power that carried up in weight

Watch Duran put Ray Lampkin in a coma, better yet, watch him drop a fighter in Barkley who won the light heavy weight title .Pryor trades with Duran he'll never hear the fifth round bell

Pryor was a murderous puncher. Look what he did to Cervantes and later Arguello. He was fast, highly talented and a huge puncher .. that said the prime Duran ( 135 - 147 ) was just even better.

He was not a puncher let alone murderous he was a swarmer he overwhelmed a former 124-130-135 champion in Arguello at the very end of his career and it took 14 rds to do it...Cervantes was old and tired and clearly done had he been at 135 or 147 Cervantes would not have been champion by that time....He fought in one of the weakest divisions in boxing that was barely recognized and many thought illegitimately.....apparently some fans here really do not recognize a puncher when they see one and a drug cheat high on uppers, cocaine and whatever else he used and threw punch after punch relentlessly against sub par fighters who were simply not good enough in the money divisions 135 or 147....sorry but anyone that hits other fighters that often that cleanly with no results until they are in the hundreds of connects is not a puncher. Aaron Pryor was a hype job trying to get a payday but avoided the better divisions at 135 and 147 when he clearly was soft enough to make 135.....the proof is subjective but clear his competition was weak and no different than the careers many complain about with the Mexican fighters....when he stepped up to a higher profile big money fight in Arguello with more network scrutiny in the corner with cameraman there to capture it he was caught cheating which it should not take a degree or a career as a detective to understand it wasn't a 1 time cheat he was simply FINALLY caught because of the attention the fight brought.

Why? Alexis Arguello who was a better pound for pound puncher than Duran could not hurt or hold off Pryor.

If they trade, that it the best way for Pryor to win. Duran's power is a little over rated. His skills are not.

Stop lying about what moronlocks Pryor was a drug cheat and an average fighter in skill and power Carl was a journeyman out to make a quick buck and had no aspirations in fighting for a title anymore.....a lot of fighters end up like that in fact most do so what's your issue I knew the guy and saw his ability when he was hungry and when he saw the writing on the wall and was just being a journeyman he fought world ranked middleweights like Don Lee and small jr-welterweights like Pryor for the money with no reality of winning especially when working full time jobs and barely training.

I also know and trained with Vince Phillips....his career worked out unlike Carl but rest assured Carl was every bit as capable....the difference? well you halfwit one got taken care of by a promoter the other refused it.

Now go beat your boyfriends meat some more.

I will say one thing about MMA fans over boxing fans they are brutal on drug cheats whether it be TRT or illicit drugs but boxing fans idolize a known drug cheat and crown him an ATG when he didn't fight fights without it....????? everybody knew it then and fighters always suspected it
