I just didn't see what others saw, I never had any doubt about the result, I never thought for a second Bellew was going to win. Usyk just started slowly, but I saw Usyk was measuring, measuring, calculating, calculating, with his hands and feet. Usyk was measuring distance and angles and slowly nullified Bellew, took away his best weapons and started to use his own. Usyk turned up the pressure round after round, it was constant mental pressure and he made Bellew work at a pace that Bellew was never going to sustain. It was only a matter of time after 5-6 rounds, it was crystal clear it was only going one way, the KO was visually great and I give Bellew credit trying to carry on, bottom line is Bellew threw some punches, didn't put a dent in Usyk, got tired and got knocked out. Also I have a problem with this Bellew love in, people keep saying Bellew was brave and bold and took a fight that he didn't really have to take, I'm not having that, he didn't enter the WBSS and chose an old, injured way past any best Haye. And fair play to him, he got paid well and sold the fight well, but while Bellew (The WBC Champion) was fighting Haye.. Gassiev, Breidis, Usyk and the others were fighting it out. I would have had far more respect for Bellew if he entered that WBSS and fought other world champions because let's remember that every belt Bellew has won has been vacant, I don't think he has beaten a reigning champion at any level. Bellew on paper has achieved far more than I thought he would and he has earned more money than he probably thought he would but his career hasn't been "legendary" like Hearn and Sky keep saying, it's been good but not great. Everybody needs to relax and put Bellew and his career in to some perspective.
I sound like a hater but in the words of a true legend.. Bill Hicks — 'I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.'
Agree, but Bellew wasn’t the WBC champ when WBSS started, Briedis was and he would’ve gotten that belt much sooner if Bellew didn’t avoid him like a plague. Minor detail but this also goes to show how “legendary” Tony’s career has been.
I thought Bellew did well, I expected him to give Usyk a few issues early on but not to the extent he did so overall I thought it was a good performance. If it wasn't a good performance, then that means Usyk lost 3 rounds to a fighter having an off night, which means Uysk performed poorly. I don't think that's what happened at all I think Usyk fought a near damn perfect fight. I don't get why some feel the need to down play a fighters performance usually against a fighter they like, don't they know they are inadvertently shitting on the fighter they supposedly support? So either both performed well and gave us an enjoyable night of boxing or both performed badly and are overrated, I prefer the former narrative.
Liking this wasn't enough..The Bellew story is one of pain and cringe I agree.. I hate to be a pessimist, but I don't see no sincerity with Bellew, just a fake ott personality..Whats the old saying, " He doth protest to much"
Bellew at the most won three rounds early on before Usyk took over and shut him off brutally. Some are acting as if Usyk had to pull off this miraculous come from behind Hail Mary KO. Lol! Oleksandr always starts out slow and then takes over mid rounds. This fight was no different. Only thing a little different is he answered all the idiots claiming he’s feathered fisted by scoring a possible knockout of the year by making Tony collapse like someone poked a hole in one of those big ballon figures you see in front of car lots.
All these people praising Bellew will give Usyk no credit when it comes to FOTY considerations. They will Choose Canelo(Despite getting a gift), Crawford or Wilder?Joshua.
**** praise, when a guy comes into a big fight healthy, but only has a six round gas tank, it means he just came for the payday, and didn't even work hard on conditioning in camp.
The same idiots that aren’t giving Usyk credit won’t matter because in the end their votes or credit don’t mean **** in the grand scheme of things Thankfully they are outnumbered by people with way more sense. Dylan Whytes brother even calls bull**** on this “Bellew was winning doe!” crap. This content is protected
Bellew got wore out by Usyk’s pressure, movement and sharp punching you idiot. Tony was in TOP shape for this fight.
No, he looked like he wasn't even in top cardio shape. You act like Usyk was administering Henry Armstrong type pressure from the start of the fight. Usyk wasn't, he was getting outboxed, and not landing anything all that substantial, and especially not enough to the body to wear someone down. He got the KO though, but lets not act like it was planned. Bellew clearly wasn't in top shape.
Tony deserves credit for coming to fight, I thought he did the best he could. I thought dropping down to under 200 lbs at his age might hurt, he looked like his stamina was gone after a few rounds.
Turd get Usyk's balls out of your mouth. Is he your boyfriend or something? Are you a groupie? Fan boy/cabin boy?
