The Tommy Morrison vs Herbie Hide and Frank Bruno vs Ray Mercer doubleheader in 1994 ... the day of the fight ... thanks to Eddie's dad.

I ordered the PPV. I turned it on when the telecast was supposed to start, and there a screen popped up saying it was cancelled. The internet didn't exist then, so there was no way of knowing why it was cancelled.

That was great card. What were your predictions on these fights?

They were both toss-up fights. Hide and Morrison could both bang, and both had questionable chins. Bruno and Mercer was the one that I really wanted to see. I have no idea who would've won that.

Morrison and Mercer both looked bad in their tuneups. Mercer appeared to lose to Marion Wilson and Morrison was dropped twice by Ross Puritty.

But both looked good after that - Morrison against Ruddock and Mercer against Holyfield and Lewis.

Then again, so did Bruno (against McCall).

It's the one card that I was anxious to see (that wasn't a super fight) that was so close to happening but didn't.

Look how lean Fury was ... thought he was going to be fighting David Haye, right?

June 2006: Corrales-Castillo III was cancelled after Castillo failed to make 135 lbs.

He came in at 139.5 lbs and what was to be the third installment of this rivalry never happened. Corrales refused to go ahead at a 4.5 lb disadvantage and the fight was cancelled.

Seven months prior Corrales had agreed to go ahead with their second fight when Castillo came in at 138.5 lbs for the 135 lb limit and got a 4th round KO loss for his troubles.

Corrales lost his next two fights (Casamayor and Clottey) after the third fight with Castillo was cancelled on the scales. A month after the Clottey fight he lost his life in a motorcycle accident in May 2007.

Castillo got a couple wins after the second Corrales fight against sub-par opposition before getting stopped by Ricky Hatton via a body shot. He alternated between wins and losses vs retreads over the next seven years. His last bout was a 2014 loss to Provodnikov over in Russia. Probably a good payday seeing as how he never fought again

Fury had a death in the family or something? It was strange Chisora pulled out really close to the fight then Fury pulled out after the weigh in vs Mammoth Ustinov

I wanna see that fight too, but I’m quite sure that it’s gonna be cancelled.
The reason is simple: none of them wants to risk the Joshua payday, and obviously only the winner is interesting against AJ.
They won’t fight, but at least finally they started to promote themselves

What makes you think that? Heard something or just a gut feeling? I was dubious even after it had been signed but that feeling has faded for me its looking very much on.
