Absolutely. And I bet ego plays a huge role to, as it should. These guys have been fighting, excelling, and beating -- sometimes even destroying -- the absolute best fighters in their weight classes and age groups for well over half their lives and worked their asses of to get where they are at. Regardless of what the reality is, in their own heads they are the "A" side, the clearly better fighter, with the better resume almost always. And to be where they are, they NEED to believe that. Its easy for us to say so and so should make "X" concessions to whoever just so we can watch a great fight, but for them its damn near impossible to entertain even the slightest concession. And I dont blame them.

These are two of my absolute favorite current fighters, I dont have a favorite, And even though id slightly favor Spence because of the noticeable size advantage, they are both way too good and skilled for this to be anything other than a close a and competitive fight. And even if it doesnt come to fruition, just the fact its gotten this serious that they both obviously wannanfight each other badly, well, I think they deserve massive respect from boxing fans for that alone. They've already got it from me.

yes, sir. i can tell when a fighter isnt keen on facing another fighter, perhaps not out of fear, but for whatever reason he is not looking forward to the work. mikey and spence have absolute confidence in their abilities and have no fear of anyone they say they want to fight.
neither guy is going to get what they are expecting to get in the ring, so it will be a matter of who can change tactics on the fly in order to overcome the little extras they were not expecting.

Lol some of these Avatars throw me,there’s one on here with a pic of a tiny little guy with dwarfism(think that’s correct term)and I asked if that was a pic of him or someone else lol.
Have to say the avatar thing gets me a lot as we did have a poster who had a pic of a good looking woman but every time it mentioned what it would love to do some of these boxers I’d forget it was a lady posting and think this place is going mad lol.

 

What a win for Mikey it would be. Definitely picking Spence though. Probably ends up a 117-111 or 116-112 type of fight. I could be made to look stupid but even against a beast like Spence up at Welterweight, Mikey seems like the type that does not get knocked out or hurt enough to be stopped.

I fancy it would be a rare fight that I don't really root for either. I used to think Mikey was overstated years ago and didn't like him but recent years I've come to respect him and now I find him to be very underrated and illogically hated on. I actually like watching Spence fight a lot but he is just way too overrated, not on perceived skill and entertainment but on literal opposition, for me.

 

Well it is 2018 and this place is definitely mad, so ya never know.
