The real heights of Wilder, Fury & Joshua (or as close as you will get)

Wilder - legit 6'7

Joshua - a touch under 6'7. I remember last year or so Hearn was being interviewed and mentioned something about AJ had just finished his measurements and he was a touch under 6'7 which seems to be accurate when you see him in videos or pictures.

Fury - 6'7 and a quarter. (at most. He seeme to be shrinking every month lol). He is not 6'9. People will be extremely surprised if him and AJ ever square off and there's not this mythical 3 inch height advantage for Fury. He's been pictured with Price on numerous occasions who's always a couple of inches taller and he's only listed as 6'8.

I keep seeing people go on about Fury being a giant compared to everyone else. He was on his tip toes in a recent picture with Joe Joyce and was barely taller than him. Then I've seen people say AJ is really only 6'5 which is bollocks.

 

I keep hearing people call Wilder a superheavyweight. Was Paul Williams a cruiserweight because of his height relative to his opposition?

 

Funny thing is that Super Heavyweight doesn't even excist in pro boxing, only in the ams and then it's actually just the 'normal' heavyweights.
And I've seen a couple of posters and even press call Wilder a SHW, while he's actually quite light for a modern HW. It's merely size.

David Price is an even bigger specimen. 6ft 8inch of pure muscle, this ferocious Plumber is!

 

I've seen devil worshipping Wlad say a couple of times on TV interviews including one last week that he's 6'5. I always thought he was a legit 6'6.

I think this is most accurate, all the pics I've seen of Fury and Price
and Price is taller. How can Fury be 6'9" ?

And Wilder is most assuredly a "small" HW despite his height not a SHW. He's
literally Holyfield's and chubby Chris Byrd's (who was barely even a legit
HW) weight. And they are most definitely not SHW's..........

 

I agree. Tyson Fury is 6'7. Hughie Fury is about 6'4.
They say "6'9" and "6'6" but that's just "man in the pub" talk.
Every old bloke in the street a fraction over 5'9 thinks he's a legit 6 footer and that inflates the whole thing.
I'm a legit 6'3 and I've met shorter men who insist I must be 6'7 or more "... because I'm 6'4, mate" (they say)

There are a couple of pics where Fury even looks shorter than Wlad, though Wlad was prone to wearing lifts in face off pics so that might not be an accurate reflection of their respective heights.

He's a big guy for sure, though his gangliness might exaggerate his true height.

 

You look at this pic of Joyce, Joshua and Wach there seems very little difference in height between them and Joyce is standing behind them. I suspect Joyce is closer a bit taller than he is listed at as is Joshua based to him being next to Wach who is mean't to be 6'7".

From the few pics I've seen of Fury and Joyce together recently there doesn't seem to be much difference, maybe an inch or an inch and a half taller.

Fury looks taller than Wilder in a number of pics I've seen about 2 inches I guess. So Joyce and Wilder might be about the same height or close to it.

 

Wilder, despite being 6’ 7”, could actually make Cruiserweight fairly easily. I believe he was 214 his last fight. I think Usyk, for example, is around 220 on fight night.

 

CelebHeights is quite useful as it has the estimated heights of quite a number of boxers.

It has Joshua at 6' 5.75", Wilder at 6' 6.5" and Fury at 6' 7.5"

 

I've met AJ a few times and he is 6'6 easily, maybe a shade over.

Either that or I'm shrinking,


Anyway, if you're interested, AJ didn't want any sort of confrontation with me, he was smiling, laughing, very polite and courteous, a real gentleman.

He knew he couldn't pull that "road man" rubbish with me.. I was even tempted to make a thread once claiming AJ ducked me but there was so many of those threads I thought it would just flood the forum.

 

AJ's from watford or something. He wouldn't last around roadmen from a proper city.
