Genuine question, does boxing ever get shown there at movie theatres in the UK?

 

The US is not a boxing nation, I think it's ok if they can't sell enough. The fight should have been in the UK to be a success. That's like complaining that an American Football match can't sell all seats in Europe.

Just look at all the stars in the US, talking through their translators in the post-fight interviews. That fight could have been big but poor managment and marketing are the one's who are to blame.

This isn't unusual for the US, Canelo/GGG was aired at some movie theatres.

Don't recall this ever happening in the UK, at least I've never been to see a fight at the local movie theatre. Brit sports fans are a bit more raucous than US fans doubt UK cinema's could cope with a bunch of drunken boxing fans on the night of a big fight.

Yes, there are so many movie theatres here. The national companies that run them are VUE, Odeon and Cineworld. There are many regional companies as well. There is also a good number of independent cinema's, they show new releases and also older films too; mostly classics and nostalgia inducing films.

As theatre attendance numbers have declined in recent years, due to the rise of Netflix and other internet based subscription services, theatres have reduced prices drastically (from around £14 per ticket to around £5 per ticket). They have also refurbished many cinemas; before the seats were very small and uncomfortable, now they are very comfortable recliner seats with a small swivel tables and greater leg room.
