I hope you're right, but I don't think it will happen. Bogdan Dinu was a talented heavyweight, but was poorly managed earlier in his career and has not had the chance to develop into a world-class fighter. He went through long periods of inactivity during his 20s despite showing promise in his first few pro fights. This will be a tough fight for him against a bigger, younger opponent who has faced somewhat better opposition, especially during the past five years.
Team Miller is in the boxing equivalent of the four corner stall in basketball. They're trying to protect a lead by killing the clock for an appointment with Joshua. Dinu is taking this fight on 3 weeks notice. Granted he was in camp but this is a huge leap in opposition calibre. His resume is vague at best, littered with trial horses and early prelim names. You have to really scratch to find anything of merit in his record other than there are no surprises and he has an intact something and zero record. Dinu looks the part. Has decent skills but demonstrating decent skills against "has beens" and "never will be's" doesn't tell you much. Two things scream louder than Dinu's skills. One, Team Miller picked him and that speaks volumes. Two, Miller is a proven commodity who has been in the ring with at least ten guys who are vastly better than anything Dinu's ever faced in the ring. And I always get suspicious when the opponent plays up his resume of sparring partners. If Dinu pulls off the upset it would be as huge as Miller is fat. Miller stops him mid to late is how I see this.
Dinu is the better skilled and this could be a good one if can offset the giant Miller. You still need power to do that somewhere... I like Miller late stoppage maybe 10 ? Dinu is inexperienced in long fights which will be his undoing.
i agree with martins assessment while dinu passes the eye test / hearn made this fight dinu sparred many rounds with joshua as a sparring partner so hearn will know a lot more about him than we all do just looking at dinu`s you tube fights v gimmees. miller has the style to make opponents have to dig deep and really have to beleive in themselves and be willing to fight hard washington on paper had the style to beat miller but caved its why i pick miller to win miller is like whyte / a natural fighter where the love to fight and will to win beats talent / just that they both will fall short v a wilder/fury/joshua .
After Fres pulled out of fighting Miller for the WBA title 3 weeks before the card, Dinu, the WBA #9 highest ranked available contender stepped up to the plate in the hope of making the fight for the WBA title. Dinu had a longer training camp preparing for this fight (and another) than Miller did. How does this speak volumes?
just looked at WBA heavy rankings after vykus post guillermo jones a fighter i saw fight johnny nelson 15 years ago at cruiser is now ranked in wba heavy rankings despite needing a zimmer frame and arthritus pills to get to the ring.
