I watched boxing in 2008. The fact that I didn't know who Canelo is just shows he wasn't a "Ryan Garcia". Ryan Garcia is known. I feel like you're trying to imply there's similarities between Garcia and Canelo, besides the fact that they were young prospects.

C'mon bandeedo what's with the condescending attitude? Yes, of course Canelo is more known now, but are you really trying to say Canelo was a hypejob like Ryan is back in 2008? Do you actually think Ryan is going to amount to anything? He'll probably win a title because of Oscar but that's it.

sorry, man, i was being a bit of a ****. they arent obviously identical, nor was my post meant to be taken that way. it was an easy comparison for the point i was trying to make. canelo was hyped from the beginning cause he had promise, and a look that sold, not unlike ryan. canelo in his teens had the majority saying he would get wrecked once he stepped up in class, which continued into his mid 20's.
i always knew canelo would get better, just like i know ryan will get better. ryan has more physical tools, but canelo has proven intangibles that i have yet to see in ryan. ryans next fight will tell me a lot about how well i can expect him to do in the future and how fast, or slow, his progress should be expected to take. with his new capable trainer, i will be looking at his ability to learn and to improve what he already has compared with his lackluster showings so far.

Fair enough, I apologize if I came off argumentative too. I'm not going to lie any comparisons with Canelo and Ryan annoys me. I get your point though.

Is it just me or is the similarities between Broner and Ryan? Broner can actually fight on the inside and is a dog too, but he's flatfooted like Ryan, both have really fast check left hooks, and both boxing IQ are low.

When it's all said and done I hope Ryan actually does become an elite fighter. Just like Haney, Shakur, Teofimo, etc. That makes the sport more exciting. I just want this kid to cut the corny fruity ass flash type videos and concentrate on his craft. I get why he does it, and it's smart in a financial sense, but I feel like he's caught up in it. Most people forget 20 year olds don't have the maturity to deal with that kind of fame and attention. Hopefully Canelo will slap the **** out of him if he tries any of that fruity **** in his camp.

Lol so in your world Usyk drew with Briedis , but canelo beat GGG right?
Most fans and experts had canelo losing both fights against GGG and usyk beating briedis. Usyk won all fights in his opponents backyards , while canelo lost agaisnt GGG twice at home .
Usyk is undefeated and was never suspended for cheating. Canelo is a drug cheat and should have 4 L’s on his record.
Canelo is in the top 10 p4p ,around 7-10.

At home? Canelo is from Mexico not Vegas lmao. Drug cheat? You mean how he performed better in his 2nd fight being tested, than his 1st fight? Yes, he failed a test, but he didn't fight on it. Canelo is better than Usyk. GGG beat Canelo the 1st fight, Canelo beat him the 2nd one. Usyk beat Briedis, but there's an argument for a draw, that's all I'm saying, he scraped by. Briedis can't even lace GGG's boots, be real *****.

If anything Canelo is criminally underrated here. Why would I boost Canelo up like this when he's not even American? I'm primarily known here as being pro-american/japanese, any regulars on here know that. But Canelo is easily over Bud for me.

4 losses lmao. **** off. What 4 losses? He should have 3 at worst. Unless you count some **** back in 07 when no one even know who the **** he was.
    Floyd
    Lara
    GGG

And he fought Floyd and Lara when he was 22-24, I forgot the age range. Do you really think a prime Canelo losses against that Lara?

Nah Canelo beat GGG the 2nd time around. I was rooting for GGG in that fight too cause I thought he got robbed in the 1st.

canelo does a good job in there. hes becoming really good. alot because of the money that has been dumped into him. he was brought through the process in baby steps. even through his step up in weights with his catchweights and he fought alot of small guys.

easy money grab getting the belt and more accolades vs this fielding guy with winning another belt. then the options are endless and alot of guys are gonna be willing to get in the ring with him.

With a few more Ls he wouldn’t be getting that 350 million dollar deal

That said he’s a elite fighter

when i make these predictions of what i think will happen, that often sound outrageous when i make them, i factor in a lot stuff the average person doesnt consider even in passing. i consider how this young kid with heavy hands whos lighting quick, trained by a father who, with all due respect, dksab, will improve now that he is part of a team that includes the most marketable fighter in the world, which puts the most advanced sports related professionals working on improving his earning potential... which means winning.
one thing that i see ryan has better than broner is awareness. he sees better. his counters dont looked practiced like they do with guys who counter with their eyes closed, they are target finders. its just that his technique sucks and he has no idea how to set up the only 2 punches he has been taught well. i look for him to tighten up his left hook and to start bending at the waist more, if he can improve just that, he will be doing fine.

Trout was not a clear win, it was very close I actually had it a draw as I did the first fight with GGG. The GGG rematch could have gone to GGG. The age excuse is a weak one, and if he really is so much better now then y isn't he fighting the top middleweights I named?
