We would have gotten a better gauge of how he truly stands in the division if he'd of faced Pulev instead of 215yo Adamek.
people don't realize how big and strong Miller is and they don't realize how much he fatigues his opponent with his pressure, his punching, and his weight. Good point about Foreman, I actually talked to a guy recently who thought that 6-3, 217 pound 70s Foreman who fought Frazier "was at least 250 pounds." A lot of boxing fans believe in myths, they don't look at the facts.
I used to spar a guy 6'3 280-290 in the amatuers, believe me, a lot of people on here havent the slightest clue just how difficult it is to fight a guy Millers size. If you dont have the feet of the Furys or power of Joshua, you have a round or two, thats it. After that, breathing becomes like trying to suck air bubbles out of water and boxing becomes like trying to swim with weights tied to your wrists and ankles. Miller can still improve though, id like to see him utilise an old school cross arm defence, ala Frazier/Foreman/Norton style to mix it up as hes coming in. He'll need it the day Joshua comes along with his 1-2s down the pipe.
People don't realize how hard it is to deal with pressure. Bellew seemed to gas just by doing nothing, yet the truth was that Usyk was pressuring him from the opening bell. Dinu lasted only two rounds before Miller got to him in the third.
He gets brutally knocked out by anyone in top 5 and may be some others as well that can punch. Washington wobbled him after all. To people saying that he has great stamina - wow just wow ....after couple of rounds he can barely throw a punch and only thing that saves him so far is that Washington and Wach got even worse stamina and Duhaupas is not puncher and is journeymen nowadays and Dinu is novice. Miller has terrible resume and will never take a risky fight before AJ payday. He is doping hard and not getting tested and will never fight a puncher or anyone that can box and isnt past prime or 40 + years old that is being outweighted by 100 lbs. Seriously...Wach, Duhaupas , Washington , Fred Kassi and then on top of that Bogan Dinu that is part time boxer and never had a fight over 6 rounds. That resume is comparable to the one Wilder had before fighting Ortiz but at least Stiverne was considered as top 5-10 and half decent when Wilder took the title off him. Miller is Breazeale and Charles Martin level.Top 15-20 at best. Theres absolutely no chance this guy can beat anyone half decent except Whyte because he is very bad also but at least has Parker on his resume even with cheating , and Parker coming off a loss and huge payday and lacking any motivation. So make that fight Miller vs Whyte its kinda 50/50 and winner gets AJ payday and loser gets beaten by Wilder for like 1 mil tops instead of 5 mil lets go.
AJ & Wilder slaughter him. Wilder has already sent him to the hospital in sparring. Fury beats him. Pulev beats him. Povetkin beats him. Joyce beats him. Ortiz beats him (but that could change very soon as he is on the major downward spiral at 50 year old), Usyk beats him. Parker, Whyte and even Takam are pick ems.
Anyone who is 6 foot 4 and 300 pounds and moves like miller is going to cause problems for any heavy weight of any era. Whyte, Wilder,.Joshua and Fury... maybe even Chisora...Povetkin and Ortiz beat him.
i totally agree. i fight at middleweight (165 Pounds) but i used to spar with several super heavyweights (meaing above 201 Pounds). one was 6´5 250pounds...…...the other 6´1 240....so i know what a huge weight difference feels like. and yes, weight matters! in fact at some Point it becomes as much a weapon as Speed or power. and alot of People look at fat guys, see the gut and think: "just gotta go to that belly". but from personal experience i can tell you that a belly can be an armor. you go to that Body and Pound it like a heavybag……..only to achieve NOTHING! and he is not just some unathletic big guy. did you see him stretch his left leg on the top rope? that guy was a world Level kickboxer!! he is an athletic Freak. put it all together and he is hard to beat. sure, i wouldnt hesitate Picking Joshua to beat him……….but outside of Joshua?? nope.
Miller is this era's Nick Valeuv , only he moves better and has a better work-rate and would probably beat Valeuv if they fought.. Valeuv was top 5 in the woeful Klitschko era. Miller would be #1 in that era , possibly a Champ. In the 90's he'd be better than top 3 ranked Micheal Moorer or top 10 ranked Byrd and Rahman. In the 80's he'd be better than top 3 ranked Alison Rodriguez or top 10 ranked Olin Norris and Frank Bruno.
This is kinda where I stand. If Jarrell Miller's chin is truly iron though, he's gonna give everyone problems. a 300 pound guy that comes forward peppering with shots (uppercuts, hooks, straights etc...), then outta nowhere drops heavy shots in between the small shots. No one is gonna push him backwards, and his stamina is outstanding thus far (I'm not getting into the steroid argument). I need to see him in with a real stiff challenge first though. Wach was a good start, but his opponents have gotten worse since then
A bit harsh. Miller has fast hands, good activity, and a good chin. Fatter for sure, but far from slow handed or sluggish. Some guys just carry extra weight extremely well and have a bound in their step. Tubbs had excellent hand speed. Yeah, Tubbs was a better talent, but I think Miller belongs in the top ten today, which is on the weak side. Miller could be as good as a the 3rd best man out there today.
miller is one dimensional he is a walk forward pressure fighter he has good will to win / is willing to take one to give one what you see is what you get there is nothing else to his game because of his size it will beat a lot of fighters but miller is just so easy to hit and hit flush that when he faces genuine heavy punchers like wilder/joshua he is getting ktfo dont care how good his chin is / he is so easy to hit that his chin will be eroded as the commmentaters said during the dinu fight he is just so open to flush down the pipe right hands / so easy they just cant miss / joshua and wilder power will stop him in his tracks and he will be unwilling and unable to try and walk through the power. i beleive he is a fighter who will go out on his shield so i would like to see him given his shot and try even if i dont think he will succeed
